Jimbu Thakali was born when owner decided to leave his lucrative career in hospitality in USA and decided to run family Thakali Restaurant to attract local & foreigners in Kathmandu. Jimbu Thakali is a traditional Thakali Restaurant named after Himalayan herb called Jimbu. Thakali Khana Set (meal) is widely celebrated in Nepal because of it's irresistible taste and variety of portions offered as a meal. This is a second outlet based in Jhamsikhel Road.

I used to visit this place a lot about 4-5 years ago-both the Naxal branch and this one a few times. Back then, the food was really good. These days, whenever I come to Nepal, I always try to eat here, but the quality isn't the same as it used to be, and the service has declined as well. That said, this place still has its own unique taste that's hard to beat. I hope they work on improving things.
The Nepali cuisine I have experienced in various restaurants has offered a vibrant and distinct taste profile. While the hospitality extended was commendable and the ambiance was satisfactory, there is room for improvement in the culinary aspect. The dishes fell short of reaching their full potential, leaving space for further refinement and enhancement.
Great place to have Thakali daal, bhat, tarkari, achaar. Meal is delicious. And price is reasonable. Service is great. The place is crowded. We have to wait in queue for our lunch. Car/bike park available. Enjoy .
Delicious thakali sets available. Was pleasantly surprised to know I could have the dhido and the roti sets. The momo was not to my liking. However the burger and the rest of the items ordered were delicious.
The chef special chicken thigh is TOO good to take a picture first. I normally snap a photo before diving into my food, but I couldn't help myself. Forget your phone and enjoy this amazing dish.

Thakali set was not the best. It was okay. But the snacks were good, especially the mushroom croquette. Service was amazing. Fast service. It was warm and spacious.
Good place , delicious food! The Nepali Thali meal we had was full of flavor and cooked well.
