Customer Reviews & Testimonials
Rambagh Palace needs no introduction -- it's not just a hotel, it's the Jaipur experience. And if you're visiting with someone new to the city, a stop at Steam -- the heritage train-turned-restaurant -- is non-negotiable. It's part nostalgia, part novelty, and always a thrill. Since our group had more kids than usual, Steam was the unanimous choice. And here's how it unfolded: Started with the Keema Pav -- rich, dark, and aromatic. The keema was perfectly spiced, and the soft pav soaked up every bit of flavour. Simple, indulgent, and irresistible. A must-order. Then came the Hot Dog -- but this wasn't your ballpark version. Topped with onion, fresh salad leaves, and slathered with house-made mustard and ketchup, it packed a punch. Familiar, but elevated. The Chicken Drumsticks followed -- nicely done, with a sweet and spicy glaze that hit the right notes. The Mexican Platter? Comforting. Nothing memorable, but it did what it needed to. Same with the Pesto Pizza -- not spectacular, but satisfying enough. And then came the desserts. Unfortunately, this is where the evening dipped. We weren't in the mood for Indian sweets, so we tried the vegan ice creams and the brownie. The ice creams were... just okay. The brownie looked promising but missed the brief entirely -- neither soft, nor gooey. All show, little substance. Full marks to Steam for ambiance and nostalgia. The food? Flashes of brilliance, but some misses too. Still, for first-time visitors and younger company, it's an experience worth having. #RambaghPalace #SteamJaipur #JaipurEats #PalaceDining #FoodieDiaries #TravelTales #HeritageDining #VirSanghviStyle #HonestReviews #FoodWithAView
Nice place to go to have different experience But really don't like the preparation. Much The right time to go is inday light we made a mistake by visiting in the evening. I feel it could have better if we would have booked it in Suvarna rather than steam
A unique experience. We had our starters on the train and moved outside for our main course. Very reasonably priced for a restaurant in the grounds of a lovely hotel. The food was really tasty. The potato and leek soup was a great starter.
Overpriced: Good Ambience, Average Food This place seems to cater more to the elite crowd rather than the middle class. While the ambiance is indeed pleasing, the steep prices make it inaccessible for many. If you're looking for a proper dinner experience, you might be disappointed as the options are limited. The food doesn't quite justify its high price point. On the positive side, the staff members are courteous. If you're solely going for the aesthetics to snap some pictures, then it might be worth a visit. However, if you're seeking value for money in terms of food quality and variety, you might want to explore other options.
A truly delightful experience dining at the Steam restaurant. Childhood memories travelling by train were rekindled sitting in the train. My kids just loved the experience If you are traveling without kids i would suggest sitting out in the open, with live music. The food was delicious, the chef and the staff made sure we were fed well. Pasta and pizza is a must with some great wine.
Our experience at Steam, Rambagh Palace, was nothing short of magical! Celebrating Mom's birthday turned into a delight, all thanks to Mr. Abhishek's exceptional service--managing our lively family of 6 with patience and ease. The cute cake setup was the perfect surprise! The cocktails were simply fabulous, and the restaurant's train-themed detailing was off the rails--literally. Dining there felt like a first-class journey we'd gladly take again!
A great restaurant where you can go for special occasions with a train theme, with a choice of sitting inside the train bogey or outside. Sitting inside you can enjoy serene quite and enjoy your own time with your family / better half. Outside you can enjoy food with the live music. A vegetarian's delight - eggless desserts. The only reason for 4 stars is that the food was not exceptional like you would generally expect in fine dines.
I love this place...!!! It's ambience make me visit this place often. Though the food is really expensive, but it's fair enough as its a five star property ofcourse. We ordered falafal in Desi style and it was delicious. Also you must try their Woodburn pizza's...they are so good. You can go both during dusk time when sun is setting down n you can see and hear beautiful peacocks hovering around. At night you can enjoy the beautiful feel of train and the candle light dinner So it's a must recommended place in jaipur and if don't wanna spend hefty amount ...just order a single dish and enjoy the moment.
