Ahmedia Hotel Since 1975 - Ambur branch

With our failed attempt few years back to go to their main branch, we had to stop by their Ambur branch. I am so glad we stopped by for Sunday lunch. We are small eaters and without our young man to share the food we had to try limited food. Mutton biryani for us in such places is a no brainer and a must order. We ordered a ceylon egg parota as back up. But we had to parcel it after tasting a little. My take on the biryani, definitely one of the best i have had so far, the meat was soft add succulent and the rice had all the flavours of the meat ( now that's a big plus for me as far as biryani is concerned) and above all it was not overwhelming in taste and flavour, just too perfect to be true. The ceylon egg parota was a winner for me too, because of its texture. The rice kheer served in an earthen pot was perfectly balanced in terms of sweetness, i am not a big fan of over sweet desserts. Chai both milk and sulaimani was a perfect finish for a well balanced meal a Ahmedia. We also had the privilege of being the first to taste their haleem that will go in the iftar box. Another great dish that was not ozing with fat. A must try if you are driving on the Highway.

I would strongly recommend avoiding this place. It's massively overrated and will only leave you disappointed. We visited this restaurant, trusting the "Trust for Taste" reputation, but it turned out to be a huge mistake. The food was incredibly disappointing. The biryani was nothing like what we expected--just a bland mix of rice with overpowering cloves and cinnamon, and a few tough pieces of chicken. It wasn't even a proper Dum biryani. We couldn't even finish it. My child wouldn't even touch the rice. We then tried ordering Alfaham chicken, but they brought us pepper chicken instead. We specifically traveled for this place, and it was a total waste of both time and money. The service was terrible, and the restaurant itself is cramped and uncomfortable. Even after speaking to the manager to cancel the biryani, they refused. Save your energy and money--this place is not worth it.

Came for dinner with friend after watching reviews , thought will be good food , we asked whether briyani is available, they said chicken Briyani is here and good , we ordered and let me say Worst briyani with all clove and it's essence were worn down ,they brought up left over final end briyani which was ice cold and worst in taste. Left without eating they even billed it without any knowledge. Parceled away the food and kept to the dogs out even it didn't had a bite and went after sniffing it . Worst ever experience. Atleast inform the customers that briyani is not in good condition order any else . Came out by paying with eating jst the starters which they were shy to give even mayo for Have added the Photos.

Oil can be reduced in the biryani. It's quite similar to Ambur biryani taste but made with Basmati rice. It is not spicy, biryani masala spices smell is missing, average taste, which can be improved. Not sure the taste is same everyday or I went on a bad day. Service and ambience are excellent!

The biryani was delicious, and the quantity was worth the price. Just improving the washroom a little would make the experience even better.

I had a one of the good experience here. Food taste was really delicious... Though the waiting time was more but if we order considering waiting time it can be reduced. One strong recommended dish, cream kunafa... good enough to fall us in love.
