About Our Restaurant
The Legendary Ambur Briyani came into exitence as a humble home based business in the 1890's through the expertise of the 'Briyani Legend' Hussain Baig. The secret briyani recipe developed by him in the late 19th century is what has brought success to this traditional family business. He first began selling briyani from his home and in 1932, his son Khurshid Baig opened a small diner in the busy town bazaar and named it Khurshid Hotel, which is still present today. Muneer Ahmed, Nazeer Ahmed's son following his family legacy opened Star Briyani on the Chennai - Bangalore National highway. Star Briyani, today has grown around 34 outlets in india and is expanding internationally.

Customer Reviews & Testimonials
It was nice to have an authentic Ambur Biryani en route Bengaluru from Chennai. Normally we go in the early morning and we never got opportunity to have food here but this time we started in the evening abd we stopped here for dinner. Food was good. Quantity is less as usual.
I took chicken biryani, taste, okay and atmosphere is so good. Rest also so nice, but food is okay. It's not taste as good as before, and they are giving small quantity of rice and chicken. Also, I took chicken biryani and some mutton chops they charge around.
Disappointing Experience - Not Worth the Price Review: I recently visited Ambur Star Biriyani, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. The quality and quantity of the food did not meet expectations, especially considering the price. In the chicken biriyani, there were barely any pieces--just two small bone pieces, which was extremely disappointing. Similarly, the mutton biriyani had only two small bone pieces. For the amount charged, this is unacceptable. Moreover, the taste was not like before. It lacked the rich flavors that Ambur Star Biriyani used to be known for. The overall experience felt like poor value for money, and I left feeling dissatisfied. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and works on improving both the portion sizes and quality to meet customer expectations.
I had often heard about this place but never got the chance to visit--until today. As expected, the chicken biryani was delicious, and the restaurant serves just the right portion to avoid wastage. Since we visited at night, we kept it light and didn't try many other dishes. If you're traveling along the Chennai-Bangalore National Highway, this spot is a must-visit. There are also leather outlets nearby, so you can shop while you're here!
Disappointing Experience at Star Biryani, Ambur I had high expectations from Star Biryani, given its reputation, but my experience was far from satisfying. 1. Poor Customer Service The staff seemed indifferent and not at all customer-friendly. There was no effort to engage with or assist diners, making the overall dining experience quite unpleasant. 2. Subpar Mutton Biryani The mutton biryani was a major letdown. It contained barely three small pieces of meat, and even those lacked tenderness. The rich, authentic Ambur-style flavor that this place is known for was missing. 3. Stale Chicken Sukka The chicken sukka was disappointing, as it was made with old, chewy chicken. It lacked the freshness and spice blend that one would expect from a place that boasts legendary status. 4. The Only Redeeming Dish - Chicken 65 The only dish that somewhat lived up to expectations was the chicken 65. It was crispy, well-seasoned, and flavorful. However, one good dish cannot make up for an otherwise disappointing meal. 5. Urgent Need for Quality and Management Improvement The overall food quality and service need serious improvement. The management should take immediate steps to ensure customer satisfaction, especially if they want to uphold their claim of being "South India's Legendary Biryani." Unfortunately, as it stands today, that title no longer holds true. I sincerely hope they work on these issues because Star Biryani has a legacy that shouldn't be ruined by complacency. Would I visit again? Not until they improve.
Its all about my experience on this branch. First of all the biryani portion is less and the mutton pieces comes with only bones and fat. And we went around 8:00PM means peak dining hour after we finished our dining those come inside for dine in by the time they said biryani is not available, lack of preparedness. And most annoying thing is captains and servers fighting in bad words loudly during service. Worst professionalism PS: since it was not that much good I promoted Dindugal Thalakkati on my style
****Overrated tomato rice ****** Food is very average and mutton is rubbery and taste is not good. Better goto zaitoon next to this which is far far better than this in terms of quality. Wasted
A nice place for Unique legendary Biriyani and Non Vegetarian food. They have vegetarian options also, which is equally good. There are similar sounding hotels on the highway but care should be taken to visit the original.Ambur Star Biriyani Since 1890, that is the name to look for.
