Customer Reviews & Testimonials
I visited Dindigul Venu Biryani on my way to Kodaikanal, even though it was a few extra kilometers off-route, just to try this authentic Tamil Nadu-style biryani. When I reached, the place was packed, and the inside felt really hot and humid. Honestly, I thought that even if the food turned out to be good, the heat would ruin the experience. But once the food arrived, all my doubts vanished. The biryani was absolutely worth it - full of authentic flavor with a crispy touch and mild spices. The mutton in the mutton biryani was perfectly tender and juicy. I also loved the raita and the non-veg side curries that came along with the biryani. We tried the kheema bowls too - really enjoyable. But the real surprise was the Pepper Fry Chicken - hands down the best I've had so far! We wrapped up the heavy meal with a cool glass of jigarthanda which was the perfect end. The only downside for me was the restaurant's atmosphere - it's not very comfortable due to the heat - and the quantity of the food didn't quite feel worth the price. But still, I'd definitely recommend this place to all biryani lovers!
Dindigul's popular biryani joint! Be prepared for crowds and a scramble to find a table, but the wait is worth it for the delicious biryani. The Kola (mutton meatball) and mutton chops wasn't impressive, but mutton biryani is a must-try. Would be even better with some proper seating arrangements to manage the crowds. Still, a great spot for biryani lovers! They also sell Jigar thanda and paan.
Went specifically to try their famous biryani. Had quarter mutton biryani, chicken lollipop and mutton kari dosa. Everything tasted good except the mutton kari dosa, which was undercooked and I didn't like. The biryani was served with mutton bone gravy and chicken gravy. Service was good, but the price is a bit high.
Leave all the mixed opinions behind, wait for your table and have the biryani here. I'm happy I got to experience this. Piping hot, Moist, flavourful biryani with good amount of meat pieces is all you get here. Do the Kola urundai, karandi omelette as the side.
I am a regular here and I have been visiting this place whenever I am travelling in this route. I am a hardcore biryani fan and love to taste various flavors served across the country. i would definitely not accept this as biryani but I like the empty "biryani" only along with dalcha. The dalcha definitely adds great flavor and makes you to eat more. My personal favorite is the Siva Biryani which is nearby but I prefer Venu just for the side dishes ! Venu's kola,Vanjiram fry and chicken chops are top notch here. The service is bit slow but manageable. Parking on weekends will be difficult so plan accordingly.
Pathetic food, Being a local person who have tasted this place frequently. I would say this place lost its authentic taste. There is no Briyani flavour or anything. None of the dishes served were good, not even average taste. On top of it they charge hectic price. You need to wait for 30 mins before you get a table here. All waste of time!! Please look out for other options available in dindigul. I'm sure there are lot of options for you
Venu Biriyani Hotel in Dindigul is a must-visit for anyone seeking authentic, flavorful biryani. Known for its unique preparation style, this restaurant has earned a stellar reputation, particularly for its Dindigul-style biryani. The rice is cooked to perfection, infused with aromatic spices, and the meat--whether chicken, mutton, or beef--is tender and well-seasoned. The addition of fried onions and a touch of ghee enhances the flavor, making every bite a treat. The ambiance is simple and comfortable, with a cozy atmosphere that's perfect for both family outings and casual meals. The restaurant has a modest, no-frills interior, focusing all attention on the quality of the food. Service is efficient, and the staff are friendly, making sure you have a satisfying dining experience. Apart from the biryani, their side dishes, such as the raita, salna, and crispy fried chicken, complement the meal beautifully. The food is served in generous portions, ensuring that you get great value for your money. Prices are reasonable, which makes Venu Biriyani Hotel an excellent choice for both locals and visitors. One thing to note is that the restaurant can get crowded during peak hours, but the quality of the food makes it well worth the wait. Whether you're in Dindigul for the first time or a regular visitor, Venu Biriyani Hotel should definitely be on your list for an unforgettable biryani experience!
A mixed reviewed place as the quality of food is good but the quantity is not sufficient atall. The prices are so high for the quantity they provide. I ordered mutton biriyani, kola , mutton sukka . Taste was amazing but look at the quantity i did not take a single bite from it . That was quiet disappointing. Other wise the have a clean ambiance and a great parking facility.
