I had a fantastic dining experience at Alai Osai in Chennai! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance set a calming and welcoming vibe. The interiors are tastefully done with a modern twist, yet they reflect cultural charm--perfect for a relaxed meal. We tried several dishes, and each one stood out in terms of flavor and presentation. The ingredients were fresh, and you can tell they put a lot of thought into their menu. The service was equally impressive--attentive staff who made great recommendations and ensured we were comfortable throughout. What made it special for me was how they balanced traditional flavors with a creative touch. It's a great spot whether you're looking for an intimate dinner or catching up with friends over good food. Highly recommend Alai Osai for anyone visiting Chennai and looking for a memorable dining experience!

Visited this place yesterday with a group of 10-15 members. The taste of some dishes, such as the Prawn Fry and Fish Finger, was disappointing. The Fish Fry was also below average. The masala used in various starters, particularly in the masala fry dishes, was the same and a bit too spicy for our liking. The Fish and Prawn Biryani were not up to par as the masala used was overly spicy, although the biryani itself was fine. The only dish we found satisfying was the Rice Combo; its Kolombu and Rasam were good. On the positive side, the serving staff were very kind and polite. The parking facilities were good, and the security staff were helpful in guiding visitors. As for desserts, the goli soda was fine, but the Pineapple juice took 15-20 minutes to be served. The cost of food here is on the higher side compared to other branded hotels, so plan accordingly if you're on a budget.

I visited Alai Osai restaurant today, and here's my honest feedback: Waiting Time: Be prepared for a 30-minute wait during busy hours. Cleanliness: The hygiene standards are average, around 3/5 in my opinion. Staff: The serving staff is very kind and polite, which is a positive. Taste: The taste of certain dishes like Prawn 65, Butter Naan, Chicken Butter Masala, and Fish Fingers exceeded my expectations. However, dishes like Fish Fry, Tawa Fry, and Tandoori were disappointing. The Tandoori, in particular, felt half-baked and was not worth the cost. Mayonnaise Quality: Below par. Needs improvement. Drinks & Water: Regular water is not provided--you have to purchase bottled water. The soft drinks served are from outside brands and are just average. A better selection is recommended. Pricing: The cost of food here is on the higher side compared to other branded hotels, so plan accordingly if you're on a budget. Menu Presentation: The menu design could use some updating for a better dining experience. Parking & Security: Parking facilities are good, and the security staff is helpful in guiding visitors. Environment: Stray dogs around the restaurant spoil the ambiance, which needs to be addressed. Washroom are worst need to improved lot. Desserts: Unfortunately, no desserts were available during our visit

First time no expectations food is too good. Especially squid salt & pepper & tawa fry fish. Ambience is ok. Service need to be focus. Over all food is good. Prawan kadia masala with kulcha is. Must try...

Good ambience with friendly staff. We tried the Vegetarian for a family of 6 ppls with a 5 yr old kid. The food tasted really good. A good atmosphere for families mainly my kid enjoyed a lot.

(4/5) Visited Alai Osai Restaurant on Kalaignar Karunanidhi Salai and had a good experience. The ambience is peaceful, and the staff is welcoming. Ordered the Chettinad Combo (420), which included: * Fish kulambu (plenty of it) * Crab masala (best item) * Prawn masala (second best) * Masala omelette, papad, rasam * Nethili fry (not so good) * Curd (good quantity) * Mini 7UP soft drink Also tried Egg Biryani (good) and took a Chicken Biryani parcel (good as well). A little on the pricier side, but worth a try. No major disappointments! Overall, a decent place for Chettinad-style seafood lovers.

Great service and well situated with lots of parking. Food is a hit or miss. Great phulkas and good naan. We took a tawa fry - Koduva - and found it too having too much masala but perhaps doe those liking masala; should be okay. Avoid the tomato soup - they added cream to it and it tasted so weird. The fish masala curry came in a good serving portion with pieces of fish. Don't go for it if you would want gravy but not too much masala - as the name indicates, it seeped in masala. squid butter garlic fry is good and neither too nor too garlicky. Overall okay but in all likelihood will not visit.

Worst food taste experience i have ever had. Sea food taste worst expect crab and squid. Dont buy any alai osai special itema waste of money. Biriyani pls avoid it. Dont buy any platers . Meals is good other than this all not worthy.
