Saleem Basha

Very Worst Briyani with very worst atmosphere, asked for without masala for my kid but they gave parcel with only masala inside without much rice, taste very very worst in recent time I had, if looking for authentic briyani just forget this briyani chowk

Many have shared negative review on quality and taste. I have visited 3 times.. all the times the taste were consistent. Today had Chicken and veg fried rice. Quantity and quality wise good. Girlled chicken is tasty. Mushroom pepper fry below average. Overall satisfied.

If I had to sum up my experience with Biriyani Chowk in one line, it would be: "The worst biriyani in the world - if you can even call it biriyani." I rarely write harsh reviews, but this one genuinely deserves it. I ordered what was supposed to be chicken biriyani from Biriyani Chowk via Swiggy, and what I received was nothing short of a culinary disaster. To start with, the rice wasn't even mildly close to biriyani--it was just plain boiled rice with absolutely no flavor, no aroma, no biriyani character at all. To make matters worse, it had a slippery, almost greasy feel while touching the grains, which was instantly off-putting. And the chicken? Raw and barely edible. It had no seasoning, no marination, and it looked like it was thrown into the rice at the last minute without any care. I honestly questioned whether it was even safe to consume. I've had bad biriyanis before, but this was a new low. The experience triggered an old memory from a train journey to Jamshedpur many years ago, where they served something they claimed was anda (egg) biriyani, which turned out to be cold rice and a boiled egg in an oily packet. This was worse. In Chennai, we often joke that if biriyani doesn't taste good, we just call it tomato rice to avoid disrespecting the name "biriyani." Well, this dish from Biriyani Chowk is an insult even to tomato rice. At least tomato rice has flavor! This was a dish with no soul, no spice, no love. To anyone considering ordering from here, especially for biriyani - please don't. Save your money, your appetite, and your health. There are hundreds of better options out there that truly understand what biriyani is meant to be. I genuinely hope the restaurant sees this and rethinks everything about their biriyani--from recipe to quality control, because right now, it's a complete disgrace to the word "biriyani." Would I order again? Absolutely never. Would I recommend? Only if you're looking for the worst food experience possible.
