Really good option to plan for a date alongside beach with nice food to chill and relax over the weekend. Serve cocktails as well. Picturesque place during the sunset. Foodwise, I'd highly recommend their Pepperoni pizza, Chicken sliders & Tenders. Tables are limited and the crowd seems to be higher on weekends.

I was drawn to Char - Food Truck on ECR after seeing glowing Instagram reels praising its beachside vibe and food, but don't be fooled--those influencers are likely paid to spread lies. My group of 8 had a terrible experience, and we ended up paying with our hard-earned money for subpar service and food. I'd caution others to think twice before trusting such hype. I booked a table through the EazyDiner app, but upon arrival, our reservation was ignored. We waited 10-15 minutes to be seated, only to be given a 5-seater table for 8 people. After some effort, they combined another table, but a second waiter soon demanded we give it up, creating an awkward scene. A third staff member finally resolved it, but the shaky start set the tone. The service was a letdown from there. It took 20 minutes and multiple requests to get a menu, and the waiter who delivered it seemed irritated. We waited another 10-20 minutes for him to return and take our order, and his rude, rushed attitude made us feel unwelcome. The food took ages to arrive, served one dish at a time, and--despite prices ranging from 395-500 per dish (totaling 3,619 for our group)--it came in cheap cardboard boxes instead of proper plates. For that cost, I expected better, but the food was average at best. We stopped ordering more because the quality and service didn't justify the price. The whole experience felt disorganized and unwelcoming, with rude waiters adding to the frustration. Everyone in our group left disappointed. To the owner: this needs serious improvement--train your staff, offer proper plates, and speed up service. Until then, I wouldn't recommend this place. Save your money and avoid this spot; the influencer hype isn't worth it.

It's been a wonderful experience of newly opened food truck named 'Char'. Limited food options but delicious ones. Sunset time is mesmerizing and the lighting post that steals everyone's gaze. It has an access to the beach as well so feel free to venture out with drinks in your hand. I would love to come back here again.

CHAR offers a stunning beachside ambiance with cozy swings, a spacious lawn, and the freedom to dine anywhere--whether by the waves or under the open sky Food was exceptional--the Prawn Tempura was crispy and fresh, the Chicken Tenders were perfectly crunchy, and the Lamb Pepperoni Pizza - so thin crust. Hygiene and quality are well-maintained under VGP ownership. I liked the eco-friendly takeaway concept, allowing flexible dining, but I personally felt serving everything in boxes slightly reduced the dine-in feel. That said, it makes sense since you can grab your food and enjoy it anywhere! Overall, it's a fantastic sunset-to-night hangout, especially with live music on weekends.

Char Food Truck is a unique dining experience by the beachside at VGP Golden Beach Resorts in ECR. It was a wonderful experience and the food was good and little expensive . Limited menu and they do serve alcohol too so you can enjoy a nice cocktail by the beach
