Amazing place for Lunch and Dinner. Normally crowded category place. Food quality was good, use of oil could have been less but in order to giVe justice to these dishes it might be used. Both the fish and chicken dishes were good. But I liked their Veg dish.

We were on a fortnight long trip from Goa and were suggested this place by one of the locals. Hence we tried it and boy.. Was worth it, the Biryani is flavorful, the curry dishes are amazing even the fresh coolers and sweet choices were commendable. The staff was helpful too for curating the menu.. Will look forward to visit soon.

The biryani rice was good, but the quantity of mutton was very less for the price. Chicken 65 was good with the right quantity, but the mutton biryani had just one small bone piece, whereas the menu advertised it as a big chunk.

I Had lunch at this place. Thalappakatti Naidu Mutton biryani, Chicken Ghee roast, Chicken Varuval Masala and Nool Parotta. I had gulab jamun with ice cream. The food was really good. I really like the Chicken Varuval Masala The ambience is so good and the service staff is equally good.

Soul On Fire: Travel and Adventure

This place never fails you when it comes to taste. The place is located at very busy place so parking might be issue. The ambiance is good but the service is very laid back. The staff needs some training in checking on table what is lacking and should be quick to react. The food is good and the portion is justifying the price . Good place to be with friends and family for lunch or dinner.

Ambiance and Service Thalapakatti restaurants are known for their comfortable, family-friendly ambiance with a touch of tradition. The decor often features wooden furniture, cultural artwork, and warm lighting that reflect the heritage of Tamil Nadu. The staff is generally courteous and attentive, ensuring prompt service, even during peak hours. Online ordering and takeaway options are also well-organized. Signature Dishes 1. Biryani Taste and Quality: Thalapakatti is celebrated for its authentic Dindigul-style biryani, which stands out for its unique flavor profile. Unlike other biryanis, their recipe uses seeraga samba rice, a short-grain variety known for its aroma and texture. The spices are perfectly balanced, and the biryani has a distinctive peppery kick combined with rich flavors from the ghee and meat. * Chicken Biryani: Tender, juicy chicken pieces are cooked to perfection and blend seamlessly with the rice. The marinade seeps into the meat, ensuring every bite is flavorful. Portion Size: The portions are generous, making it a satisfying meal for one person. Their family packs are also worth considering for larger groups. Accompaniments: The biryani is served with traditional sides like: * Salna : A tangy and slightly spicy curry that complements the biryani. * Raita: Cool and refreshing, balancing the heat of the biryani. 2. Kothu Parotta Taste and Quality: The kothu parotta is a crowd-pleaser, showcasing the flavors of Tamil street food. Made with shredded parotta, vegetables, egg (or meat), and a medley of spices, it is stir-fried to create a rich, flavorful dish. * Chicken Kothu Parotta: These variants are richer, with tender, juicy chunks chicken complementing the crispy parotta. The masala is perfectly spiced, striking a balance between tanginess and heat. Portion Size: The portion size is filling and ideal for an individual meal or as a shared side dish. Authenticity: The flavors are authentic, reminiscent of the Tamil roadside eateries, but the cleanliness and quality elevate the experience. Pricing * Biryani: Moderately priced for the quality and authenticity. While it might be slightly more expensive than local biryani stalls, the flavor and portion size justify the cost. * Kothu Parotta: Reasonably priced, offering great value for money. Pros 1. Authentic Dindigul-style biryani with a unique flavor profile. 2. High-quality ingredients, including tender meat and fragrant spices. 3. Consistently flavorful kothu parotta, with customizable options (veg, egg, chicken, or mutton). 4. Comfortable dining environment and reliable takeaway/delivery services. Cons 1. The biryani's spice level might be too intense for those with mild palates. 2. Portions of the kothu parotta could feel heavy due to the richness of the masala. Final Verdict Thalapakatti lives up to its reputation as a premier destination for South Indian biryani and kothu parotta. The biryani is a must-try for its authentic Dindigul flavors, while the kothu parotta is a delicious, spicy alternative for those seeking Tamil Nadu street food in a refined setting. Highly recommended for food lovers seeking bold, traditional flavors with a modern touch!
