Customer Reviews & Testimonials

Balaji Manickam

I recently visited this restaurant and had a great experience overall. The ambience was quite pleasant, offering a comfortable setting for a relaxing meal. The service was exceptional. We opted for the veg buffet, but unfortunately, the variety of vegetarian starters was quite limited. It would have been nice to see a bit more creativity in that section. The soup was creamy and flavorful, setting a positive tone for the meal. The main course featured several common dishes that, while tasty, didn't offer anything particularly unique or memorable. On a positive note, the variety of pastries and sweets was impressive. We thoroughly enjoyed the dessert options. My suggestion would be to provide some kind of welcome drink to ppl who is choosing this restaurant. Try booking and paying via dinning apps, to avail considerable offers. Overall we enjoyed our dinning experience.

We visited Paprika at Courtyard Marriott for a Sunday lunch on a sunny afternoon, hoping for a pleasant dining experience. We had booked in advance, expecting both buffet and a la carte options. However, upon arrival, the manager informed us that only the buffet was available, which was disappointing as I generally prefer a la carte. Despite this, we decided to go ahead. Unfortunately, the buffet didn't meet our expectations. The restaurant was quite crowded due to an event in one of the halls, and many of the starters had already been cleared out by the time we got to them. I managed to try some cold fish and dry chicken--neither of which was enjoyable. My son, thankfully, found some joy in the papadams, which he loves. Moving on to the mains, the biryani lacked meat but was the only dish that tasted somewhat decent. We also ordered a pizza separately--unfortunately, it had a dry base and was overloaded with cheese, making it just "ok-ish." As for the desserts, a few items were good, but many trays were nearly empty by the time we got to them. We left feeling full, but not satisfied. On a positive note, the ambience was pleasant, and the live music was a nice touch. However, based on this experience, I don't see myself returning to Courtyard Marriott for a meal anytime soon. the pics were not taken from a review perspective, so sorry about them not being clear

I've visited this place twice, and both times were enjoyable. The food was quite good, especially the green curry, bisibelebath (custom order not on menu) and the options on the kids' menu. However, the service could use some improvement - on attentiveness. The ambiance was pleasant. I'd consider visiting again, especially if there are good offers on Swiggy (which we used).

My dining experience was thoroughly disappointing, culminating in a hygiene issue that was simply unacceptable. While eating my dessert, I discovered a hair on my knife - a complete dealbreaker. The staff's response was woefully inadequate, merely offering to reduce one person's buffet cost. This lackadaisical approach to such a serious hygiene concern is alarming. Even before this incident, the overall experience left much to be desired. The buffet was subpar in every aspect: 1. Starters: Very limited variety, offering little to excite the palate. 2. Main courses: The biryani, a typically flavorful dish, was tasteless and unappetizing. 3. Food availability: Many dishes weren't replenished, leaving counters largely empty. 4. Live counter: Limited options, and the chefs were surprisingly unhelpful. They rudely refused to take orders directly, insisting we order from our table. However, no staff ever came to take these orders, rendering the live counter essentially useless. The level of hospitality was shockingly poor throughout our visit. From the insufficient food quality and quantity to the unresponsive service and the egregious hygiene issue, this restaurant failed on multiple fronts. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this establishment to anyone. The management needs to seriously reconsider their approach to food quality, customer service, and most critically, hygiene standards.

Worst experience. Food was terrible. The soup was so bad, the fish didn't taste good, there were no intersting gourmet dishes. There was no mutton or prawns or crabs. We had no access to the live counters, the welcome drinks were of very poor quality. We were expecting a good experience at a restaurant of this stature but greatly disappointed. I have experienced much better food at half the price.

A great place with a good and peaceful ambience. The quality of food is good as what you can expect from an international cafe. The taste of food is a little bland compared to other cuisine-specific restaurant, however it is expected from an international restaurant since they cater to people with different tastes. The creme brulee was just amazing. The gardenia pizza was loaded with lots of veggie toppings and cheese, which was worth the price. The pasta was little bland, as mentioned earlier. The cafe manager is really friendly and helpful.

Very limited menu and taste not up to the mark for this cost. Worst hospitality. Literally no one will come to your table and ask if we want anything. We ordered roti from live counter but we couldn't complete it so the service personal simply took it and served it for another table.

Maybe we like buffets because it's like Indian Thalis. Lots of variety and not having to skimp on the orders because it seems overpriced. The arrangements at Paprika are standard, except that it has a large open seating area on the ground floor right opposite the hotel's reception. The large blackboards detailing the coffee and tea bar, as well as the one over the dessert area add a nice touch which bright LEDs cannot match. Perhaps we've grown too accustomed to luxurious shots of food. The lentil soup was hot and thick, like a diluted spicy dal. There are a range of starters to choose from - paneer, a spicy corn mix and the vegetables in a tangy twist are a good foundation The Thai green curry, which is supposed to go best with steamed rice, But the Schezwan noodles are equally amenable. The jeera rice, a groundnut curry with a distinct closeness to the vattakuzambu and the muttakose (cabbage) poriyal was another satisfying combination Remember to try out the fryums and papads, which adds the crunch factor, no matter which stage of the buffet you're at. Cold curd rice with an assortment of pickles and mor molaga - the chillies that have been soaked and dried after being dunked in yoghurt are Chennai's unique offerings. No one else can make coffee and curd rice like Tamil Nadu does. The desserts have now become a mix of cheesecakes, cakes and sweet crusty fillings. Indian sweets have become popular as well and there are as many rosogollas, cham chams and pedas as cakes. It's the fruits that are getting a trifle lonely. This evening's highlight was the mango panacotta and that fruit can blend with practically anything while retaining its character. Nothing like the buffet to get the taste buds saying Gimme More!
