Walked in and took a chance on this authentic Tamizh food fine dining restaurant. Reception was friendly and warm and the service by Deepak and Surya was very good throughout. There are many dishes and they are well explained. Although there were a lot of bones due to the country-style preparations, it is hard to fault the preparation and care put into each dish. My favorites were -the Kasa Kasa Yeral (poppy seed prawns) -Salem Kari Chukka (dry mutton preparation) -Mettur Meen Kuzhambu (tamarind fish curry) -Paal Kozhukattai(dessert of rice flour balls cooked in a sweet coconut milk sauce) These dishes took a lot of trouble and time to prepare and the chef Uma Devi is to be commended! Overall it is great value, not just monetarily, but culturally as well. These are preparations and ways of cooking that hark back to simpler times where the quality and care for each ingredient are evident in the taste. Worth trying, if only to understand the local flavors!

I came to this restaurant with my Indian friend. It was amazing to learn about Indian food culture through the fine dining style of serving and presentation. Even though I might not fully understand the taste of some dishes, it was still a great experience trying the food here. Personally, I love trying food from all over the world, and I'm always ready to explore new cultures and cuisines.

Team Lunch Review: Sangamithrai at Feathers Hotel, Porur Yesterday, our team had lunch at Sangamithrai, located in Feathers Hotel, Porur. Here's my take on the experience: *Ambiance: 5/5* The ambiance was, as always, excellent. The decor and setup created a warm and inviting atmosphere. *Cuisine: 4.5/5* The cuisine was good, with a focus on traditional dishes. We enjoyed a variety of authentic Tamil Nadu cuisine, including: - 5 Rice Paniyaram - Beetroot Kola - Manatakali Soup - Parupu Sadam The taste was excellent, and I appreciated the effort to serve traditional dishes. *Non-Vegetarian Options* Although I didn't try the non-vegetarian dishes, I noticed that the restaurant offers a range of options. *Pricing: 3.5/5* While the food was delicious, I found the buffet to be expensive compared to other options. *Service: 2.5/5* Unfortunately, the service was not up to par yesterday. Hopefully, it was just an off day. Overall, I would recommend Sangamithrai for its excellent ambiance and traditional cuisine. However, the pricing and service could be improved.

I had an amazing dinner at Sangamithirai, a restaurant inside Feathers Hotel in Chennai. The food, service, and atmosphere were all excellent. Mr. Deepak, who served me, was very patient and explained everything on the menu. The dishes, prepared by Mr. Komal, Mr. Kartmick, and Ms. Vanitha, were delicious. I've always heard great things about Southern Indian food from my friends, and now I know they were right. The only downside was that I got too full before I could finish the dessert. The portions are generous, so make sure to save some room! Dinner costs about 2500 Indian rupees, and it's worth every penny. Definitely check it out if you're in Chennai!

Sangamithirai - Tamizh Cuisine Traditional South Indian cuisine can be hard to find in Chennai, but Sangamithirai, located in Feathers Hotel, is an exception. This restaurant proudly showcases the diverse flavours of Tamil Nadu. Our culinary journey began with the comforting Attukal Milagu Soup, or Paya Soup, bursting with traditional South Indian spices. The Sura Puttu, a dish of delicately scrambled shark meat, impressed with its subtle seasoning. The Kasa Kasa Yeral, a dish with intense flavours, quickly became a favourite. The Siruvani Chicken, inspired by the Kongu region, offered a rustic touch with its country chicken base. The main course took us across Tamil Nadu, featuring Madurai's Ayira Meen Kuzhambu, Kongunadu Mutton Biryani, Poricha Pudalangai Kootu from Thanjavur and more. The Thakkali Stuffed Idli, with its tangy tomato chutney filling, the flaky Veechu Parotta, and the spicy Moolai Milagu Podi Masala added depth and colour to the spread. We rounded off the mains with a hot shot of Nellika Rasam, perfectly capturing the essence of Tamil Nadu in a single sip. No Indian meal is complete without dessert. We indulged in a delightful trio of Karuppu Kavuni Halwa (black rice halwa), Thoothukudi Macaroon, and Sattur Seeni Mithai, a rice-based treat resembling jalebi. Dining at Sangamithirai is an experience beyond just food. Their menu is a heartfelt tribute to Tamil Nadu, crafted by four talented women home chefs and the trained chefs at Sangamithirai under the guidance of chef Murthi. With a rotating menu that changes daily, fresh ingredients sourced every day, and an exclusive dinner service, this restaurant stands out. Make sure to visit with a big appetite and plenty of time to savour every bite of this authentic culinary journey.
