Savoury Sea Shell

The food was good and stayed true to its legacy taste, which was appreciated. However, the customer service was disappointing, and the ambiance felt outdated--unchanged for years. Overall, it left the impression of a very ordinary restaurant visit.

We visited Seashell Restaurant in Karapakkam last night with our family (5 members including 3 children). I ordered half barbecue, 9 parottas, and pepper chicken gravy. The barbecue was average--not impressive in taste. But what followed was shocking. When the parottas and pepper chicken gravy arrived, we immediately noticed that the chicken was very old. The moment we took a bite, the chicken had a terrible, spoiled smell. It was clearly not fresh and absolutely unfit for consumption. Serving such food is not just careless--it's dangerous, especially when children are involved. We were horrified that they served this to our kids. It felt like poison on the plate. We returned the dish immediately and informed the staff. They later replaced it with another chicken item, which was just okay. Our total bill was 1007, but the experience was unacceptable. I strongly advise others to avoid this restaurant. Serving spoiled meat is a serious health risk. What happened to us should never happen to another family. Shame on them for being so irresponsible.

Recently visited the restaurant after a while but things seem to have changed a lot. The ambience is a bit darker & there was a funny smell throughout. Service was good but the order took forever to reach. Chicken Dum Biriyani was good but not nothing extraordinary. Pepper Chicken Masala was okay but with very few pieces. Costly but a very average experience.

The city is losing the Arabian food taste . It's becoming just normal food. Feel of chicken doesn't seem to have a fresh taste.

When we came here for dinner, it was nearly full. It had a wonderful, ominous atmosphere. Both the barbecue chicken and the chicken manchow soup were good. In addition to Schezwan noodles, we also had Butter Naan, Paneer Butter Masala, SPL Chicken Sandwich, and Cheesy Chicken Macaroni. The pomfret was the only dish that didn't taste well because it wasn't properly cooked. The costs are pretty high. With your friends, family, or other loved ones, it's worthwhile to give it a try.

unpleasant experience .they serve old frozen food .Bad service . unclean restrooms and dirty washbasins ..intially when we went they told us indian cuisine was unavailable and we ordered chinese after asking them twice . we had ordered vegetarian starters and ginger fish, after asking them if it was fresh . they dint mention anything while ordering and gave us smelly (pungent and old ) food .we asked them to replace the order and reordered . i returned and order drums of heaven which was burnt and overcooked .According Mr shreejith(server in thoraipakkam) says all sea shell serve frozen food.got to them two days ago and they serve us that Mr shreejith started arguing and dint have basic etiquette on how to talk to their customers.Despite being patient he kept on arguing .overall the food and service were bad experience.they have spoilt the name of sea shell all over chennai .

Already good experience with greams road sea shell, entered here with family. From the beginning every thing went awry. Ambiance looks dark and spoil the mood to eat. Menu looks pathetic. Due to hungry of children, decided to try. The waiter gave me a menu card and whatever ordered everything is not available. Finally ordered alfham and briyani. Chicken felt chewy, dry and I don't know why they serve red chutney instead of mint. briyani like tomato rice. Tatally waste.

I strongly advise people who are fasting for Ramadan not to visit this restaurant due to its extremely poor service. Even basic essentials like dates for breaking the fast are not provided. The Iftar kit they offer is pathetic and not worth it. The customer service was terrible, staff members were rude and had a very dismissive attitude. Despite advertising mutton haleem at the entrance, they informed us after we were seated that it was not available. This misleading behavior is unacceptable. Having visited multiple outlets of Savoury Sea Shell, I can say that this particular location is a scam. It does not uphold the standards of the chain. I would rate this place zero stars and strongly discourage anyone from dining here. I would like to connect with the hotel management to address these issues, as this level of service is completely unacceptable.
