The Square- Multicuisine restaurant in Chennai

Hotel is placed quite well and is accessible by road, entry however may be a challenge as there is no road signage close to the gate. One good thing that I noticed and a welcome change, the restaurant staff were welcoming and despite of managing the space in full occupancy, they helped me to find a table. Also liked that there is no formal foot wear needed for the staff, a welcomed change to get them in something comfortable, that they already are aware of. My dish was a club sandwich with bacon. Apparent the layer of bacon was similar to gold in top soil. For that price the sandwich is not a crowd pleaser. I also got a piece of chicken nugget in my french fries, makes me wonder, hope no vegetarian had ordered fried made in same batch. My Gin and Tonic was the savior of the day. My view come for the location, stay, staff and drink, better food options outside the property.

We went for a team lunch here. We opted for the buffet. There were a lot of options but the food was not exactly fantastic. This place had a nice ambience. The lights and the way they presented the desserts and the food had a nice touch. The fish tikka was really good. And the veg patty was equally good. I only had seconds of these two. The chicken and other dishes were merely meh. For the amount you pay, you would expect a more tasty food than this. This was an disappointment in that aspect. Even the dessert was a disappointment. They had very limited options. I loved the mousse but other than that, nothing stood in my way. The cakes were too hard and not at all moist. Will not revisiting for sure. Even though the service was good and considering the fact that they made sure never to leave the food bowls empty and was always refilling, I can change my mind if they could provide really tasty food.

We as a team of 50 went to this buffet.. Mr swami and his team did a best job from welcome drink to till end.. all non veg food was very good.. We had 3 fish,2 chicken and mutton gravy, chicken briyani....also we got chicken rice and noodles, pasta pizza from live counter.. Overall experience is awesome...

March 2024 visit: We stayed in novotel and dined breakfast , dinner and Sunday brunch All these three times the food spread and taste were good. Some food went cold but they replaced it immediately. Some pineapple went empty which they refilled for me on request on table Staff service is above and beyond . Staff Mubin and Nidhi gave impeccable service and took care of us and made us feel comfortable. Kudos to both Mubin and Nidhi for setting benchmark in service and dedication. Overall a great memorable birthday weekend well spent in Novotel and Square restaurant Will recommend to friends and family

Had Weekday lunch buffet with my colleagues. Food was mild and tasty. Veg Biryani was too spicy but Mutton biryani was subte and perfectly cooked. Ordered fried rice from live counter. But it took really long time and was served only after repeatedly asking. Taste was good. Widespread variety of deserts were available. Icecream was only average. My friend took a scoop of Mango icecream and it was only ice with little cream. Service provided by Shakthivel and Sakun were very good and satisfactory.

The worst food at a supposedly 5 star hotel. The spread itself was pretty small. No item was particularly good. It's shocking to see such disgusting in Tamil Nadu. No pongal, appam, idiyappam or any of those sort. There is no Vada for breakfast! What a shame for a restaurant in Chennai. They had some second grade poori bhaji. The omelette was bad, the bondas were worse. Chutneys and sambar were not good either. They had a measly selection of desserts, hardly 3-4. Had only 2 fruits cut pieces, only 2 flavours of ice cream. Juices were horrible and not fresh. It left me wishing I didn't pay extra for the breakfast and instead had gone outside for breakfast.

Excellent food. Great ambience. Aman served us very well and he took care of all our requests to customize food and gave some good suggestions on new entries in the menu. Had a great time at dinner

Excellent decor .. Great staff who are polite professional and caring.. Food is good. Breakfast menu is exciting. It also has a bar attached to it and a smoking area along side the restaurant. Dinner menu is good and not overpriced.
