Zaitoon Restaurant, Velachery

The food and ambience were decent, but the wait time for a table was quite long. No particular dish stood out, as everything tasted average. What surprised me was that the restaurant has only one restroom, despite having a capacity to accommodate around 100 customers.

Yesterday we went for dinner in Velachery branch,waited for 10mins and got the table.once we seated a person named Mohammed Iqbal came to us and requested with gently voice is it possible we change the table cos , a pack of 10 Members are coming and thn i said ok. Once we settle order chicken clear soup and one creamy tomato soup the taste is all ok for the starter order of fish finger it's average oly. Main chicken fried rice , chilli chicken, masala fullka ,panner tikka masala and one jeera rice all good and the service is good. Order watermelon mojito and zaitoon special falooda. All good and the service is good and polite.

Picked this place because of the overwhelming number of reviews and the food here did not disappoint us. Their boneless Tandoori Chicken was tender and smelled so nice after grilling. The Laham Meshwi was surprisingly good and well seasoned. The only improvement needed is the fact that there were so many flies in the restaurant to the point where it was almost disturbing.

We celebrated my daughter's First Birthday in Zaitoon Velachery. We were little hesitant about the cost on the whole but it was a great decision made by us because food and services were really top notch. All the dishes tastes excellent and all our guests appreciated everything about the food and the ambiance. The Manager Jijo was phenomenal, he helped us from our initial visit until the end of our celebration and made sure everything was full filled as he committed. As first-timers in Chennai, we visited Zaitoon based on its overwhelming Google reviews -- and let me tell you, it totally lived up to the hype! Since it's such a popular spot, we had to wait for about 30 minutes even on a weekday -- just imagine how packed it must be on weekends! That said, the wait was worth every second. We were just two people, so luckily got a table a bit quicker -- though it was in the basement section. Initially, we were a little hesitant when we heard "basement," but once we stepped in, it was a pleasant surprise. The ambience downstairs was just as classy and well-maintained as the main floor. In fact, it was buzzing with people, with just our little table left vacant -- it felt like we had stepped into a food haven. Special mention to our captain, Purna Chandra, who recommended the Day Special: Achari Chicken Tikka. We've had many versions of Achari Tikka before, but this one blew us away -- perfectly spiced, juicy, and full of flavor. What elevated it even more was the unique side of grated raw mango and pineapple -- a brilliant combination that complemented the dish beautifully. We also tried their Shawarma, which was super flavorful and well-balanced. The Biryani was Ambur-style -- subtle, not overly spicy, yet rich in flavor. It was a soothing and satisfying end to an already delicious meal. We were so lost in the food experience that we completely forgot to take any pictures -- but that's just another reason for us to come back soon and do it right next time! Highly recommend Zaitoon if you're in Chennai and craving flavor-packed food with excellent service and ambiance.

Tried Zaitoon for dinner. You've got to give in ur name and wait for a table. Tried Alf Faham dajaj(Tandoor grilled and succulent) and prawn roast(below average). Both starters were served with kaboos and fries. And for mains tried the kozi dazaz(flavoured rice with tandoor chicken) and mutton rogan josh(yum). The food is good and items are priced around 300-500 on average. Service is pathetic with grumpy staff. Overall a good restaurant in terms of food and location.

I had a fantastic dining experience at Zaitoon! The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was excellent. One dish that truly stood out was the Kozi Rice--a must-try for anyone visiting. The Kozi Laham (mutton) was incredibly flavorful and tender, making it a highlight of the meal. The staff was attentive, and the overall ambiance added to the pleasant experience. Friends and family get together on a Sunday evening. This is a perfect place for a food outing. Food is delicious and a great treat for non veg lovers. Grill chicken and honey prawns are awesome. The service part is poor, we have to wait for a long time to place an order. Waiting for waiter makes us the real waiter. It is hard to find the waiter once we place an order. If we want to add something to the order we have to wait for long time. It will be great, If they could add few more persons to take order. We were 15 in number and we got a discount.
