I had to attend a marriage at Cheyyar which is one hour drive from Kancheepuram town. I started around 4.30 on a rainy day on 2nd November 2017 from Chennai and reached Kancheepuram at around 6.45 pm. From there I got into a bus to Cheyyar and reached Cheyyar at around 7.45 p.m. I booked a single room in Arul Lodge at around 8 p.m. for one day's stay. It cost me Rs.350 which was quite reasonable. The marriage hall called Thayar Abbai Hall was only five minutes walk from this lodge. The room was not spacious, it contained a bed with bed sheets and pillow. It had a portable colour TV and a toilet (Indian style). I had no problem in using Indian style toilet but many others may need Western style. The room also had a table and a stool to sit and work. It had two mirrors - one inside the room and another inside the toilet. There was a tube light and a night lamp. The toilet had a faint light. It had no wash basin. The room and the toilet were relatively clean. The room was freshly white washed and had tiles on the wall and the floor. It had a window but I did not open it for fear of insects as it was a rainy season. I went to the marriage hall, had a delicious meal and came back to the lodge at around 10 pm. I had a peaceful sleep. The room was not air conditioned (AC rooms are also available in this lodge - I was told). But the fan was very fast and gave me comfort. The climate was also cool and so no AC was needed. There were no mosquito bites because the fan was revolving very fast and moreover there was only a small distance between the fan and the cot where I lied. Mosquitoes and other insects could not survive at such a speed of the fan and so I enjoyed my sleep very well. In the morning next day I got up early, took bathe and the water was very nice to take bathe. I vacated the lodge at around 10.45 a.am. in the morning and went back to Chennai as a satisfied person

Decent place to stay with family near cheyyar bus stand. Reasonable price. Good vegetarian restaurants are available within walkable distance from hotel.

Very poor maintenance. No other go for accommodation at small town like Cheyyar. Better to stay comfortably at nearby towns either Thiruvannamalai r Vellore.

Average place to stay in cheyyar. Reasonable price. Not bad.

Worst lodge no tv .no bathroom water....conjuse lodge ....bed facilities very worst ....lift inside but not onnnn

Good enough to stay one night. I would suggest to appoint a room service person.
