Customer Reviews & Testimonials

You have to climb atleast 500 steps . At the top its just like a mini hampi. If you want to get food and beverages you can get it from shops near the starting point. Ticket rate is 25 per head. Youre not allowed to take pictures inside or from the top of the temple or some building at top most point. Phones will be checked sometimes for any photos

Really a good Historical place. Humble request to Government. Kindly maintain this historical place. This can be a over crowded tourist attraction if maintained properly.

Nice climb up a huge pink granite rock. Windy and peaceful at the top. Great views of Dindigul town.

Dindigul Fort is a must-visit historical site for anyone exploring Tamil Nadu. Perched atop a hill, this majestic fort offers a stunning panoramic view of the surrounding city, lush greenery, and distant hills. Built during the 17th century, it is rich in history and architectural brilliance, having been a strategic military location for several rulers, including the Nayaks and Tipu Sultan. The fort's massive stone walls and ancient structures are well-preserved, giving visitors a glimpse into the past. Walking through its pathways, you can feel the aura of history and the stories of battles fought here. It's an ideal spot for history enthusiasts, photographers, and nature lovers alike. Be prepared for a bit of a hike to reach the top, but the effort is well worth it. Carry water, wear comfortable shoes, and try visiting in the early morning or late afternoon to avoid the heat. Highly recommend this site for its historical significance, scenic beauty, and peaceful ambiance. Don't miss it if you're in Dindigul!

This is one of the historical forts located in the Dindigul district...! It is a great place for tourists and visitors for sightseeing...! However, the maintenance is very poor. Currently, only lovers and disconnected couples visit here. The government should take action to renovate and maintain this historical place to make it more beautiful and appealing..!

Dindigul Rock Fort, Tamil Nadu - A Historic Marvel Dindigul Rock Fort is a remarkable historical site located in the town of Dindigul, Tamil Nadu. Perched atop a 280-foot high hill, this ancient fort offers a blend of history, architecture, and breathtaking views, making it a must-visit destination for history enthusiasts and travelers alike. The fort dates back to the 17th century, constructed by Madurai's Nayak kings and later strengthened by the legendary Tipu Sultan. Its strategic location provided a vantage point to monitor enemy movements, and it played a pivotal role in the defense of the region during various periods of conflict. The architectural style is a unique blend of Dravidian and Islamic influences, reflecting the diverse cultural imprints left by its different rulers. One of the most captivating features of the fort is its expansive view of Dindigul town and the surrounding landscape, including lush green plains and distant hills. The fort's commanding presence atop the hill gives visitors a sense of the defensive advantage it offered to its occupants. Visitors can explore the fort's various sections, including granaries, temples, and water reservoirs, all of which reflect the ingenuity of ancient engineering. The fort is relatively well-preserved, and the trek to the top, though slightly challenging, is rewarding for the panoramic views and the chance to walk through history. While the fort may not be as famous as some of the other larger forts in India, it holds significant historical importance and offers an immersive experience for those interested in Tamil Nadu's rich past. Whether you're a history buff or simply looking for a scenic spot with cultural depth, Dindigul Rock Fort will not disappoint.

There is no step hand holder so it is difficult to climb using only steps. We have to more careful to climb. While I am going someone slipped and feltdown. So I had informed in counter archeological person. They said it is on progress but without that why they are allowing?they are charging 20 rs. In hills top Shiva temple is there but it is closed. In temple no pooja simply closed all statue are removed. What bjp doing not sure they said they are for temples. Don't go here with kids and family. It is risk.
