Customer Reviews & Testimonials
This cafe offers an unforgettable experience that combines exceptional food, breathtaking views, and warm hospitality. Food: The chicken sandwich I tried was simply incredible! Served with crispy, hot fries and a fresh, crunchy salad, it's easily one of the best sandwiches I've had. Every bite was flavorful, and the quality of the ingredients stood out. Location: The location is magical, perched amidst the clouds. The stunning views and cool breeze create a serene atmosphere that's hard to match. It's an ideal spot for nature lovers and those looking for some peace. Parking: Finding parking can be a bit challenging, especially for cars. I recommend parking a little before the cafe along the roadside to avoid any hassle. Service & Hospitality: The staff were delightful, serving with smiles and ensuring a pleasant experience. The service was prompt, making the visit even more enjoyable. Price: Initially, the menu seemed pricey, but once the food arrived, I understood its value. The quality, taste, and ambiance make every penny well worth it! Overall: This cafe is a must-visit for anyone seeking delicious food and a serene escape. It's an experience that's hard to forget and one I'd highly recommend!
This cafe offers a delightful experience with a cozy atmosphere and beautiful surroundings. The foggy atmosphere adds a magical touch to the dining experience! The combination of good food, serene surroundings, and the chance to spot bison makes this cafe a truly special place. The food, especially the falafel platter with hummus, fries, and fresh salad, is flavorful and authentic. Highly recommended for both food and ambiance!
Altaf's Cafe is a hidden gem perched at the edge of a peak, offering one of the most surreal dining experiences I've had. The moment you step in, you're greeted by breathtaking views--clouds literally float around you, mist brushes your face, and the sunlight plays peek-a-boo. It feels like you're dining in the sky. I came across this place after seeing a photo that made me crave hummus and chole bhature. With full confidence, I ordered chole bhature, only to be told it's not available. That was a bit of a letdown. But the rest of the experience made up for it. The food we did get was absolutely delicious. I personally loved the aloo paratha--it was hot, fresh, and packed with flavor. We also ordered a chicken dish that, unfortunately, didn't taste great. We brought it to the staff's notice, and they handled it professionally, even deciding not to charge us for it, which we really appreciated. The ambiance is peaceful, and it's the kind of place where you can sit for hours, just soaking in nature. Whether you're a foodie, a traveler, or someone just looking to relax with a view, this place checks most boxes. If you're in the area, definitely give Altaf's Cafe a try--go for the view, stay for the food. Just be sure to ask what's available before ordering, especially for non-veg items.
Altaf Cafe in Kodaikanal offers a cozy and cold atmosphere complemented by beautiful surroundings and lush greenery. The frequent foggy conditions, with clouds seemingly floating by the tables, indeed add a magical touch to the dining experience. The food and prices are decent, although the food itself might not be exceptionally noteworthy. However, a significant drawback is the difficulty in parking and reaching the cafe with four-wheelers and traveler buses. Additionally, the local taxi drivers potentially harassing outsiders regarding parking, which is something to be aware of.
Located in Vattakanal, this is a pretty famous cafe. They serve middle eastern, Italian cuisine. Food is pretty good. The location is fantastic, with mountain views. The service can be pretty slow, as it is usually full. They are known for their falafels, however it was underwhelming. The chicken schnitzel was fantastic. Overall, a good experience.
Altaf's Cafe is a must-visit! It is situated in a location with breathtaking views and an amazing atmosphere. One of the great advantages is that it's right at the entrance to the Dolphin Nose trek, which is another must-do in the area. The service is excellent, and you can't miss trying the ginger tea, chai, and the delicious rice dishes and shakshuka. Together, these elements create a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal after your adventures. Just a tip: be sure to come dressed warmly, as the temperatures can drop. Enjoy your time at Altaf's Cafe!
Falafel platter was the best and everyone writes about it. Hummus is not such great compared to similar sized restaurants in Bangalore. In summery, food is okay. Do not order Salad. One time is okay to try, but i would not visit again. Price is also decent. Mostly young crowd. Location and view are wow. Service was fast. Accepting UPI was a relief considering very few places in kodai accept, moreover one may not have signal at all places. Narrow mountain road, so a car driver need have to have decent skills to reach there.
Best breathing taking view with your favourite brunch. Love the place really. Must try signature dishes are chicken schnitzel, shakshuka and mixed sauce penne pasta. Don't forget the honey ginger tea, which is a must try in this place. Owner of this place and the staffs are very friendly. Best place to hang out in vatakanal.
