Slate & Pearl

Had a really bad experience. This restaurant is inside Sterling kodai lake resort. Once order for drinks were placed which was applicable under happy hours as per restaurant menu, the restaurant manager later came up to us and said that happy hours is closed. We suspect this sudden change is due to us being guests from outside the hotel. 5 star restaurant serving only unsalted peanuts with alcohol is appalling to us. The actual 5 star Carlton served us better snacks with alcohol. Also, the ladies washroom had overflowing dustbin with tissue papers and really unhygienic toilets. If this is 5 star service then I am born yesterday.

Kodaikanal's newest and most amazing restaurant. There is nothing like this place in Kodaikanal. The outdoor seating is amazing - you get to enjoy the weather I love the vintage indoor ambience also, it's just gorgeous. The best part is that you can see the lake but you are far away from the crowded noisy part of the lake. The food is phenomenal, you don't get this kind of food - especially the south Indian fusion ANYWHERE in Kodaikanal. I absolutely love the Kodai Carrot Hummus and the Milagu Paalkatti - genius serving with kozhambu and on fried IDIYAPPAM. The Chicken Kurumilagu is also insane. Perfectly spicy, magical for the weather. The best part is that you can sip on a drink while you enjoy your meal.

Grilled sandwich and charcoal spring rolls were delicious. Sangramjit is very pleasing and explained everything that we asked.

Foremost slate & Pearl ambience is topmost amazing , well done pleasent interiors , good vibes with an outdoor seating settup, GM Dinesh has made our evening much more enjoyable with his courtesy, Saruv behind the bar counter was so smiling and his colleague impeccable service , The Executive Chef Thirumurgan and team ensured serving us with delicious chicken kababs..Chicken tandoori kabab was outstandingly delicious mashed Potatoes with cheese , very best , fresh fruits in fruit platter, Kodaikanal has been starving without a good resto bar , but slate & pearl fits in , for the tourists where ever you stay an evening dinner at slate & pearl will make your trip memorable.
