Customer Reviews & Testimonials
yummy mutton biriyani with well cooked mutton pieces nice mutton chukka fry...nicely blended with onion and fried in oil soft parotta with mild spicy gravy
We found this place by chance and we felt very lucky. Apparently this is one of the best restaurant in Madurai. They have an AC room upstairs. The food is very very good and so was the service. We are French we don't speak Tamoul so they brought us a selection of dishes to choose from which was very helpful. An overall nice experience. It would have been perfect had there been soap to wash our hands.
Chicken tasted to be old, not fresh.Especially grill chicken quantity was too low and tasted very bad, not at all fresh & chicken curry dosai tasted like usage of old oil and chicken was also not fresh. Too expensive and quantity is very low in terms of chicken & mutton gravy. No menu card available and so couldn't see the price list prior. Only costly gravies were said to us. The quantity of gravies except paaya was too less but costed so much. The quantity can be compared to a small scoop of icecream. Sambar & chutneys were really good.
Food is very good and service is excellent, however the ambience in the AC hall can be improved, especially insufficient lighting.
Biriyani was good. The grill had the worst taste in the world. All non veg gravies were average taste but very small quantity and high priced.
You can have quality food at moderate price.Normal dine-in is available on ground floor and family dining on first floor.Lifts available. We had Kari dosai and vazha ilai parotta. The vazha ilai parota was not up to the standards. And the cost for it was also very high ( vazha ilai parota alone). It was around 270 rupees which had only chicken stuffings. And we had egg valiyal which looked and tasted like egg omlet. The kari dosai was good. There was no soda on sweet and salt lemon soda. The beverages were not served cold. The family dining area was air conditioned. But that place is lot more than chilled. We got shivered in the middle of dining.Could have adjusted the temperature.
Food is very tasty and must try. Very addictive food. But the atmosphere in the AC hall is very worst. The lighting is not good. When we informed about this to the hotel management they said this light is more for this hall.
I have ordered egg parotta , chicken chukka and madura chicken through swiggy. Parotta and chukka was ok but madura Chicken was completely over cooked. They packed and sent. When I received the parcel I could notice the burnt smell before opening. I am not sure whether the person who cooked doesn't have the ability to see, smell or inexperienced. Completely not acceptable from this kind of vintage hotel.
