The Banyan Restaurant

The two days we stayed at this beautiful property, we got to sample their daily spread of fabulous buffet breakfast at The Banyan, that has both indoor & outdoor seating while the spread's all inside. The food was no doubt fabulous but it was the service that amplified the whole experience. Day 1 we had the vegetarian selections from Southern & Northern India, be it the unique idlis, the poori subzi, the fresh hot ghee roasts from the live counter, everything was just perfect. With all those chutneys the dosa and idli was wonderful. Especially the Kara chutney that was spicy and tangy, just the right bit. The coconut chutney could have been a little more fresher, but overall thumbs up for Day 1 breakfast. Day 2 we had an early start so headed to check the selections which were similar but different variants were available to ensure that we get to try several options during our stay. The continental selections of grilled chicken wasn't great, and the sausages were good, but we were delighted when one of the staff making and pouring coffee on the spot at the table offered my daughter, and gave few options like boost or bournvita. When my daughter politely refused, any, she said if she can get a hot chocolate, which was happily agreed by my daughter and we were happy that she got something that we least expected here. This summed our overall experience at The Banyan, a delightful one, hoping to visit soon. Do check them out for their fabulous spread irrespective of whether you stay at the property or not. #apjprecommends

We had lunch and dinner in this restaurant and even though they also had buffet options we preferred to order a la carte. The buffet was their main focus and a la carte orders took 30-40min but it was okay to wait in this lovely place with birds signing on the surrounding trees. However, I ordered Mutter paneer for lunch and Subzi Diwani Handi for dinner and both were quite bland and more interestingly they tasted very much the same. Naans are okay but not the best I have had on my trip. Western food is good. Service is very professional.

Good multi cuisine restaurant with the Heritage hotels at Madurai. The buffet spread are very good covering wide varieties of items for both dinner and lunch. They have both indoor and outdoor dining area with recreation activities during weekend dinners. They have very good variety of vegetarian spread in the buffet spread. Ambiance is very good. Service by the staff is extraordinary especially Mr Jothiswaran. Mr Pakiyaraj made arrangements for the birthday celebrations and table reservations as per our request.

Just fabulous.. it's a beautiful resort with delicious food... we had bfast buffet worth every penny .. kids also enjoyed very well..

Went for dinner buffet with my family ..the have a good spread for veg and non veg dishes with dessert and tea coffee ..very good option for ppl who will love the heritage ambiance and lots of tourist ppl visit here .

Visited after many years. The food quality is very good. The property is well maintained. Perfect place for a family get together, corporate meetings etc. Value for money. Ambience is a star which will make you feel better. Don't forget to take pictures near the banyan tree. Buffet options for both veg and non veg were excellent

Nice restaurant... relaxing place...will have great time with our loved ones ..heritage their motto!!in the entrance,people in reception said vanakkam, it looks awesome...in part of food-too costly, don't try briyani it Will cheat you, other foods are nice....must try stuffed mushrooms worth to eat and yummy too...the foto of the interior of the restaurant I have added, it looks amazing and neat.

Very nice place to hang out with family in Madurai.. restaurant price were much reasonable when compared to other posh restaurants... Very good ambience.. the dishes were good too.. good authentic South Indian taste.. definitely recommend them!!
