No spicy at all. Enjoyed the taste of respective main and side dishes. Serving and cleaning staff are gentle and polite. Kuruma is based on coconut milk , vegetables and not with extreme spicy.

One of the oldest local restaurant with fast customer turnover, thus service is very prompt. Had one of the best veg Pongal of my travel to TN. Based on online reviews ordered Milk halwa which was mediocre. Recommended for quick & filling breakfast at pocket friendly price. It is on Walkable distance from both Amman temple & Madurai bus stand or even railway station.

Notable place in Madurai for breakfast and lunch but with prices way out of budget... You will have to wait for a long time to get tables and the AC service area is 30 percent more than the normal seating area prices. If you are looking for a quick BF, there are lots of options available in the city...this is recommended only for the popularity.

Went here with nostalgic feel but really disappointed with the way they treated us, no place to sit but half of the restaurant was closed with no service.. Lots of confusion in the staff on availability of products, uncooked Chappathi meals was good though I have been here before 2K their reception and service was awesome then. Anyways thanks for the memories

I enjoyed the food. But my kids didn't enjoy the ambience and service. I was curtly told that don't thrust us your nostalgia. It's time modern restaurant improves to accommodate today's generation or get pushed in to oblivion

A restaurant for breakfast... An old place with a rustic atmosphere inside. There is also an old clock inside the restaurant. Food is good. Sambar taste is nice

We ordered a breakfast package (idli, sambar vada, poori & masala, pongal) on 14-Apr-25 from the classic, authentic Modern Restaurant in Madurai, which has maintained its taste for many years. Thanks to Aswath for accommodating us on short notice. Keep up the momentum, MR Team.

The hotel is very crowded and no seating is available. We need to pay separately for an AC room alone which is a very bad thing. That too the seats are very limited outside and as well inside the AC. The meals food quality and quantity was okay. But the staff's behaviour was the worst. Some of the staff are not polite. The token system is maintained which is always crowded with people. It's very old system. The rates are costly only. Overall rating : Quality. : 3/5 Ambiance. : 2/5 Waiting. : 1/5 Staff. : 1/5 Service : 2/5 Rates. : 2/5 Taste. : 2/5
