Madeena Restaurant Gorimedu

Visited this hotel on way from Puducherry to Auroville recently. It's close to the main road (NH 32 : ESR? ) and since there is a additional service lane, it's very easy to park your vehicles. The food and service is great. The overall hotel was clean. The prices are very reasonable and menu is extensive with a lot of options to choose from. I would say it's mainly a non-veg restaurant but you find vegetarian items. The staff were responsive. I visited during a Brunch period and it was not busy. I think there should be a better signage closer to the highway because we only found this restaurant because we were looking on Google Maps and you would miss it if you are simply driving. Maybe the signage were blocked by parked trucks? Not sure.

We went there for dinner and found this to be one of the best places for good Kerala style non-veg food. The taste was top class and highly cost-effective too. We tried chicken kothu parotta, mixed fried rice, parotta, peri peri chicken, beef kondattam, sharjah shake and madeena special galaxy shake. We got a beef masala parcel as well. Kothu parotta was too good, one of the best we have tried so far. Peri peri chicken was well cooked and had the right spice levels. Mixed fried rice had the right blend of masalas and non veg. Beef kondattam alone was not up to our expectations as we felt that the meat was hard. Sharjah shake was ok, it tasted like a thick banana shake. But, the Madeena special galaxy shake was yummy- it had mango flavoured icecream and also some fruit pieces (like pineapple, papaya, cherry). The beef masala parcel was good too. We were almost the last customers on the day as time was around 10:30 pm when we finished. But the waiter showed no hurry/frustration and served with a smile. Though the place is small and crowded most of the time, all the people in this restaurant greet you well and make you feel welcomed. Ambience/atmosphere is normal but maintained neatly. A 'Go to' place to have hearty non-veg food in Kerala style at a very reasonable price. Most ideal for non-veg food-loving students, bachelors and groups of friends.

The food was really good. Quality and quantity are good. The beef chukka and parotta are a must try! Their chicken biriyani is absolutely the best Kerala style biriyani!

The Thalassery briyani is top notch ! Soooo good ! Must try if you're craving kerala food ! Beef gravy and parotta everything is top notch

Visited on #3/8/24 Tried porata , beef roast , fish curry , omelette. All good. Good service.

They used to serve good food but not anymore. Now it's getting too crowded and they r using their old fame but the food is below average. Fried ride is not cooked properly, chilli chicken has foul taste. Kerala parotta sucks, it tastr like 2 days old frozen porotta. There is no kerala restaurants in Pondicherry serves authentic tasty kerala food. They don't even cook actual Tamil or Pondicherry food. Its a mixture of SOMETHING. Don't go waste your money.

Kerala hotel near pondicherry checkpost gorimedu. Biriyani, idiyapam and porota are recommended. Price is not that cheap but affordable. Snacks are also available depending on time .
