Nalla Thambi Mess

This is my second visit to nalla thambi mess (NTM). 1ST time I visited with my friend sounthariyan and we had mutton dosa , chicken thooku satti porata, mutton brain , mutton nalli. All are good . And today 01/6/2025. Sunday So waiting time was there , we waited almost 45mins to get a seat. Few Nonveg breakfast options in pondicherry . Again repeating same dishes .

Well I guess we made the biggest mistake of choosing this place for our lunch @ Puducherry. We ordered mutton meals and pepper chicken. The food served was cold. Can you imagine some one in South India serving you cold rice for lunch. All the dishes were cold. The taste was absolutely bland mutton fry and the curry were bland beyond belief. The mutton was very very hard to chew and the meat refused to leave the bones. The chicken was also very stringy and non chewable. So folks think twice before going to this place.

Price wise but high , mutton soup was horrible, other then that everything was good only Especially try mutton kalaki Tooka set porota was very good. Iddyappam was very good with the egg gravy .

Thooku satti parotta chicken was tasty with semi half boiled egg. The chicken was hard and flavourless, but the parotta with its gravy were tasty. Prawn kari sooru had too much masala in my opinion and dnt tasty like prawn. A few big prawns were there in the rice. Also came with an omlette. The parupu payasam was not tasty. The quantity of the two dishes were good.

Been with friends in weekend for breakfast. Over all good. But I know like non veg gravy it's very blend. No spicy. Must try is boti dosai, idiypam paya & curry dosai.

The place is quite narrow and situated in residential streets, with no reserved parking available for cars. As for the food, we tried the chicken kari sooru, mutton lunch, fish lunch, and thooku satti parotta. The taste was above average, and the meat was fresh. I would recommend visiting this place and giving it a try. It's worth noting that their Sunday breakfast is said to be a specialty, featuring options like idiyappam with paya and mutton or chicken kari dosa.

Had their famous thooku satti porotta. It was just average. Nothing very special. I felt it was watery than having more gravy. If they can prepare their gravy well it would taste better.
