Famous and popular temple for tourists. Suggest early morning or late evening Darshan. Too much of heat on the day we visited. Need to park the vehicles one km away and hire an auto to reach temple. Free and paid Darshan available, huge temple and crowdy. Excellent sea view. Beautification process was in full swing. Must visit place

I visited thiruchendur murugan temple last week and it was well crowded even with special 100 ticket. So plan your timings accordingly. Took 1.5hrs for Darshan. There are 3 options available - 1. Free Darshan 2. Special Ticket (100) 3. Senior Citizen, Children below 1year & Person with Disabilities Queue For Senior Citizen - ID proof (Age) is mandatory and 1 person can accompany them. Must Visit as Lord Murugan fought and defeated the demon Soorapadman here. The famous festival Soorasamharam is celebrated grandly every year to commemorate this event. Important Festivals : Apart from Soorasamharam, major festivals like Kanda Sashti, Vaikasi Visakam, and Masi Magam are celebrated with lakhs of devotees visiting.

Thiruchendur Murugan Temple, one of the six abodes (Arupadai Veedu) of Lord Muruga, stands majestically by the shores of the Bay of Bengal. Unlike other hilltop Murugan shrines, this sacred temple is uniquely situated on the seashore, offering a divine ambiance with the sound of waves accompanying the chants of devotees. The temple's architecture is both grand and ancient, with towering gopurams, intricately carved pillars, and a deeply spiritual sanctum that holds the powerful presence of Lord Subramanya. A visit to this temple is a spiritually uplifting experience. Devotees from all over the country come here to seek blessings, perform rituals like abishekam and archanai, and to participate in the temple's famous Skanda Sashti celebrations. The peaceful surroundings, the echo of devotional hymns, and the gentle sea breeze together create an atmosphere of pure divinity. The Nadai Ula of the deity, especially during festivals, is a must-see, filling hearts with joy and reverence. One of the specialties not to be missed here is the Swami's special prasadam - the Panchamirtham and Laddu, which are prepared hygienically with devotion. This prasadam is considered to be a blessing in itself and is known for its unique taste and divine essence. Many devotees take it back for family blessings. Thiruchendur isn't just a place of worship--it's an experience of Muruga's love, power, and grace on Earth. K.vinoth

Murugan Darshan was completed peacefully. The temple is currently undergoing renovation work. The atmosphere is very beautiful, and there is a sea view at the back of the temple. During festival times, it gets very crowded, and the wait time for darshan can be over 2 hours. Lockers and rooms are available around the temple for visitors' convenience. I suggested to visit the temple in day time. I visited on Vaikasi Visakam, a significant festival honoring Lord Murugan, will be celebrated on June 9, 2025. This auspicious day, observed during the Visakam Nakshatra, marks Lord Murugan's birth anniversary. Jai hind.. Om namasivaya..
