After having a wonderful darshan in Anniyur Sri Agnepureeswarar temple, we decided to call it the day for the morning temple run, since it was almost 12 noon and definitely all the temples would be closed. So we started our drive towards thiruvarur, which was our point of stay. Enroute we saw this hotel, near the temple and the big temple pond and decided to have our lunch here. A local basic hotel, and definitely it is inside what seems to be a part of a temple mandapam or something, and serves only vegetarian food. Kindly note it is not a big hi fi hotel. They serve food on plantain leaf and the food was good. service was quick. Struggled to find a parking spot for the car, but lucky enough we found a spot close to the temple pond.

A mid sized restaurant inside what appears to be part of a temple mandapam; may be on lease with the temple. Pillars & roof are made of granite with carvings resembling a temple. Good food and reasonable cleanliness.

A supposedly very old restaurant in Thiruvarur which is located very close to Thiyagaraja Swamy temple. The interiors, with old styled pillars take you back in time. I was told that the quality of taste of food has deteriorated with time. Kesari/Sheera and Dosa were good. Coffee wasn't good. Very economical. Pure Vegetarian restaurant

Alangar Hotel is one of the oldest in Thiruvarur. Their coffee is very authentic. They need to focus on cleanliness. Staffs and owner are courteous. Ps do visit and share your feedback.

Good vegetarian hotel. Rs. 60 for meals is pretty decent. Building structure is inspired by that of Thiruvarur. A central pillar, open kitchen and peacefulness.

Very old hotel opposite to temple. Very reasonable price and typical South Indian traditional food.

Hotel Alangar is situated near the Thiyagarajar Temple in Tiruvarur. Certain dishes are very traditional and they are delicious. Especially Vadai is very famous. The place is small and so it is congested. The atmosphere has to be improved. It is very difficult to park the vehicles in the main road
