Customer Reviews & Testimonials
I had an amazing experience at Pastel Poet. The food was absolutely delicious, with rich flavors and fresh ingredients that made every bite enjoyable. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel comfortable throughout our visit. The ambiance was warm and inviting, perfect for both casual outings and special celebrations. It's definitely one of the best places to celebrate with friends and family. Highly recommend!
The restaurant is inside the Rangalaya Royal Hotel and after renovations, it has a better menu, better ambience and they maintain the same standard of service and taste as earlier. The food menu is well curated with different types of cuisine that are cleverly crafted to suit the Indian taste buds. All the dishes tastes really good and looks even better, presentation of food is very pleasing and meticulously done. Service is also very efficient and the atmosphere enjoyable. Highly recommended dishes: Malai basil broccoli Spinach and cheese fatayer Mushrooms and chicken lasagna Butter chicken stuffed ravioli All pasta dishes taste awesome Tiramisu
Second visit after one year. Went in for a lunch. Having a relaxed uncrowded atmospher with good food is a great gift rather than fast paced lunch activity. Really impressed by the attentiveness, care and right suggestions regarding food options by the Mr Stephen and Mr Radhakrishna. Their starter and dessert suggestions were apt to satisfy our appetite as well as taste buds. Keep the good work ....will visit again sometime later
Pastel Poetry isn't just a restaurant; it's an experience. The moment you step in, you're enveloped in a world of pastel hues, creating a calming and elegant ambiance. The attention to detail is evident in every corner, from the beautifully framed photographs to the impeccable service. But let's talk about the real star of the show - the food! The Mediterranean BBQ Chicken was a flavor explosion, while the Hot and Spicy Veg Soup warmed our souls. The Jasmine Rice and Thai Veg Curry were a perfect pairing, and the Paneer Kataifi was a delightful surprise. And oh, the Mangalore Ghee Roast Chicken! It was a symphony of spices, tender meat, and rich flavors. Truly a must-try! But the culinary journey doesn't end there. The Pine Calada and High on Hibiscus were refreshing and visually stunning. The Whiskey Buck was the perfect drink to complement the meal. Overall, Pastel Poetry is a hidden gem in Vellore, offering a unique dining experience. If you're looking for delicious food, great ambiance, and excellent service, this is the place to be!
I really enjoyed the service, and the atmosphere was pleasant, though nothing extraordinary. The highlight of my meal was definitely the Butter Chicken Ravioli, which was my absolute favorite of the night--rich and full of flavor. Unfortunately, the Spaghetti in Pesto Sauce was a bit of a letdown, as the pesto was under-seasoned. The garlic bread served alongside was cold and lacked much flavor. For dessert, I chose the 'Alice in Wonderland.' It was beautifully presented and had great potential as the signature dessert, but it fell slightly short. Despite having multiple components, the chocolate flavor dominated the dish. It was still quite good, but I was hoping for more complexity in the flavors. I also had a Pomegranate and Mint Smash, which was refreshing, though nothing particularly memorable. Overall, a good experience with some hits and misses.
Everything was really good! Right from the ambience to the food. The staff especially were helpful.
A solid 5 on 5 on all aspects! Went in with a group of 5 and after noting down some details at the reception on the first floor, was offered a nice table across the pigeon painted wall. The ambiance was warm and refreshing. Our waiter for the day was smiling Radhakrishnan. He was very polite and courteous. He brought in the drinks menu first, took the order and within a few minutes, it was delivered. Ordered a pomegranate and mint mocktail, a pineapple and ginger one and a chocolate bubble tea. I must say, the strawberry boba used in the pomegranate mocktail was a surprise and Radhakrishna was able to break it down to me when I was puzzled to what is that ingredient. The use of exotic ingredients and thoughtful presentation was evident in everything we ordered. It may put some fancy fine dine eateries in big metros to shame! The ordered food came in lightning fast to the point we had to wonder how could they possibly do that. The green apple walnut salad had a great texture and flavour profile with the molasses syrup. The fancy twist to the humble drumstick soup was excellent- the creamy immiscible dollops are still a mystery. The mutton soup was nice and rich. The fusion and the innovated food in the menu were also great choices. Paneer Kataifi was a great succulent paneer roulade with the desert like topping and even for a moment it didn't feel out of sync. The standards were also greatly done- the chicken lasagne was rich and cheesy. The Mangalore ghee roasted chicken was authentic- tender chicken in the rich and tasty ghee roast masala. Ras el hanout with saffron rice was presented great and the meat and sauce along with the saffron rice was great. The paneer bao, if I have to complain, was the worst of the lot, though it maybe relative to the rest of what we ate there. The bao felt unimpressive with a lot of mayo and a fried patty between the bao served in a Chinese engraved bamboo basket- not a lot of sophistication when taken outside the basket. The innovation quotient there fell a bit. We opted for a single dessert as we were already filled- Alice in wonderland- it was a pleasant combination of chocolates in various shapes, textures and styles- maybe if a story came with it, it'd have been perfect. We were tempted for a second dessert and ordered the pina colada delight and it was a great dessert rendering of the classic cocktail- well presented and well tasting. The presentation of all the food were nothing short of excellent. The food themselves were either mind blowing, or plain great, great being the lowest we could rate. The service from Radhakrishnan was outstanding- he deserves a praise! Where many service folks blurts out their name aloud and ask for a mention in the review, this time I had to run behind him to make a note of his name to give him a silent written mention! He is well aware of the dishes, the mannerism and even the billing aspects and helped me with my questions in these diverse areas with absolute grace- he probably needs a promotion and exemplify great service! If one wants to have a fine dining experience in Vellore, I believe this outlet offers an unmatched experience!
Pastel poetry is an aesthetic restaurant with a wide variety of food. There are a lot of veg options also.
