Babai Hotel

I recently visited Babai Hotel for a South Indian dinner. The place was very crowded, especially on the weekend. They have a standing and eating area on the ground floor and a proper seating area on the first floor. The service is very quick, which is great. We ordered dosa, vada, and puri with aloo. The taste was good, similar to other popular South Indian restaurants like Chaitanya and Murugan. The first floor is quite spacious, so it was comfortable to sit and eat. We only had to wait for about 10 minutes to get a table. Overall, a decent place for a quick South Indian meal with fast service.

Latest review: Recently visited for dinner, we had tiffins this time as I was not much impressed with Veg thali. Tiffins are very good, we had chitti gaare, kaaram dosa and rava dosa.... rava dosa is heavy due to thick texture and oil/ghee... else everything else is impressive.. now modifying my rating to 4 from 3. October-2024 review: Veg buffet is not available during week day it seems, so tried veg thali couple of weeks back, not great. Fry is over burnt. And serving was taking time, we visited around 3PM that could be the reason. However 650 for 2 persons,not convinced the way the food taste. Next time will try visiting little early.

Tried babai masala dosa and half plate mysore bondas. Taste is good. Next day went there around 7:30am They aren't pepared at all. The items of morning breakfast are getting ready at 7:30 am which is bit late and need to improve on the availability of breakfast early in the morning. On tiffin is enough. completed dosa and 2 mysore bajjis with difficulty. Size of dosa and bonda is big compared to Bangalore hotels. Pongal portion size is huge. Ulli bajji or Pungulu tasted good. Allam chutney and peanut chutney are good and tasty. FOOD IS TASTY AND TIMINGS NOT GOOD BABAI Overall food is good. Parking available.

All breakfast items are tasty.Veg thali is over rated and not worth the money and tastes less. Veg thali is not a south indian taste, only south indian style.

Good vegetarian hotel. I visited this hotel during the evening to try some dishes. Guess what the prices are way too high ie charging 400 for a plate meal was too pricy at least for us. Taste : with a south indian menu and a blend of Andhra native recipes the food was delicious but again not justified for the price we paid. Though we ourselves are from Andhra there can be absolutely delicious food for what we get served here. Ambience: is good and spacious for small and large families. Decent waiters for serving the food. Sufficient parking during a normal day but I doubt it on a busy day. SO if you are looking for only a pure veg restaurant then you can try this hotel with little better options available at bajali Santosh dhaba(a pure veg restaurant) which is just opposite to this hotel. For others I believe this hotel is an exception.

We were a large party 9 people. Got seated quickly. Service was fast, food was tasty. Hemanth was attentive and made sure all our food came in a timely manner. Great place for vegetarian Vijayawada food.
