Bajpai Dhaba(Ramaiya )

The place has a well deserved reputation. They have a complete vegetarian menu, use butter and ghee liberally, and cook things full of flavours and decadent. The menu is not extensive, as you would expect for a dhaba. But I would happily recommend each and every dish they have. Try their bhaajis and khir for sure. The baigan ka bharta is also delectable. Also, portions are pretty big. And if I am saying they are big, they are BIG. So be careful of what and how many portions you order. And ask if you can get half portions. If course they will happily pack up anything for you that you can't consume. Price per person of about 300-400 rupees should be okay for a normal dinner.

This is a really nice open spot for Indian food, their kulhad tea could be better but overall I had a nice experience. I suggest better washroom hygiene

A very good place to stop by on the highway. Good quality food and generous serving size. Both indoor and outdoor seating is available with a dhaba kind of feel. Amazing service. Only they need to provide a proper bill and keep washrooms clean. 5/5 for food!

This is a large pure-veg dhaba right on the NH34 40 minutes before Kanpur. Plenty of seating is available with separate rooms for families. I felt that the food was too expensive for a dhaba and not commensurate with the quality. Dishes were oily and heavy on the stomach. Quantity served was however excellent. Tandoori rotis are large. "Ramaiya Special Dahi Bhalla" is heavily advertised throughout the property but avoid ordering it. I found it to be stale and awful. I complained but the manager only wryly smiled. Overall, too expensive and not tasty. AVOID. NOT RECOMMENDED.

I lived in IIT Kanpur for 5 Years. If I didn't visit Ramaiya in every 4-5 months, I started to feel something missing. I returned back to Kanpur after 5 years and had the exact same feeling. The waiters, the cook and the owner all are the same. The taste of Chana Chaat, Pyaaz Pakaudi, Aloo Pakaudi and the best part Thandi kheer, everything is timeless. The only change is the location. It has shifted by 1 km because of the bridge construction near earlier location. It is a must visit place for everyone who comes to Kanpur and especially IIT Kanpur.

Under renovation but still serving. Had amazing tea but not fond of their pakoras. Washrooms are not clean. But the staff are nice people

This is a family friendly dhaba with pure vegetarian food with one of the best quality The washroom are clean and staff working are also available and are good to speak I spent a good time there And surely recommend people to visit it once and be the part of Bajpai dhaba family
