This place reminds me of my village, the food and atmosphere here is full of memories of home. If you want to get acquainted with the roots of Pahari food, then definitely visit Desi Chulha.

As the name states, this restaurant offers an authentic paradise cuisine thali. The thali was yummy and had a variety of items including two varieties of rotisserie, 2 sabji, gahat daal, red rice and gud, makhan, masala chaas. The thali is enough for 1 person. Staff was amicable and prompt. They had some gadhwali raw produce for sale on the counter including dal, achar etc. Overall a good experience

My visit had its ups and downs, but overall, it was an interesting culinary experience. We started with their signature drink, the Kalla Khatta, which was refreshing and tangy--a perfect start to the meal. Next, we tried the Pahari Murgh Tikka, which was unfortunately just average. It lacked the depth of flavor and spice that I was expecting from a Garhwali dish. The highlight of the meal was the Non-Veg & Veg Pahari Thali. It offered a delightful array of traditional dishes, each bursting with unique flavors that truly represented Garhwali cuisine. The variety and authenticity of the thali were impressive and made it a must-try for any visitor. However, the service was quite slow, which took away from the overall dining experience. The ambience could also be improved significantly to enhance the atmosphere and make it more inviting. Despite these drawbacks, tourists looking to explore local Garhwali food will still enjoy Desi Chullha. With some improvements in service and ambience, this place could become a true gem for authentic Garhwali cuisine.

If you are looking for authentic Garhwali cuisine in Dehradun this is the place for you. As tourists exploring a new place I always look for places that provide authentic local cuisine, and though there were not many options serving local cuisine, we were lucky to come across this place. This place has an entire menu of rustic Pahadi food. We tried the Bhangjeer Paneer and Kafuli with Pahadi rice. The taste was mild and yet so flavorful, that we couldn't get enough. So the next day we got a take away of Buraansi Chicken tikka, Chainsoo, Mandua and Pahadi Rice. Definitely a must visit to experience the unique Garhwali cooking and taste.

Great ambiance. Perfect taste and reasonably priced. We had daal rice here. Specifically jeera rice dal fry and daal makhni. The taste was awesome. It's a veg non veg mix restaurant. Being vegetarian we choose the said meal but taste was good. Hygiene was good too. Service is perfect. Behaviour of staff is polite and attentive. Well decorated and well maintained resturant.

Ordered Chicken Thali. And the star CHICKEN was horrific as hell.. It was so chewy that, a small bite would take 2 mins, and still i had to gulp it. Also the chiken was not seasoned well, and the gravy was not good. Rest the side dishes were ok. However, when complained to the staff, they simply smiled, and didn't say a word. For a 420 rupee, thali with limited portion size, and hype I expected way better. Last when i went to wash my hands, i was horrified to catch the kitchen glimpse. It was lacking hygiene, looking like was not cleaned for ages, and everyone's whos dinning was at health risk. Deeply Disappointed!

The place is clean and hygienic, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable dining experience. I recently tried their Desi Chulha Special Pahari Veg Thali, which came with a variety of dishes like supe, udal dal ke pakode, and masala buttermilk. Everything was flavorful and perfectly cooked. Highly recommended! I would rate Desi Chulha 5 stars.
