After watching some reels in instagram and checking out their menu I went there to try some 'authentic south indian food' and it was disappointing when it comes to their quality of food. I orderd kakkinad pepper chicken fry, mutton elumbu rasam, malabar porotta, chettinad chicken and appam with chicken stew. At first kakkinad chicken arrived in just 2 mins I was not very impressed about this much of prompt service, and it seems it was reheated. They served 3/4 pieces of chicken along with 3 bones in some spice gravy. Gravy was average and chicken was of bland taste. After that I tried the mutton rasam and it was also without seasoning. I have tried this recipe in tamilnadu many times so I am very much known to this taste and this time it was so disappointing. In chicken chettinad over cooked chicken seems that they were leftover pieces. And in chicken stew they must use coconut milk to prepare the base instead of grated coconut and they just serve atleast good pieces instead of two small solid pieces in that gravy. Overall a disappointing experience in this restaurant. Will suggest to look into this matter if you are investing so much in social media marketing you should provide atleast good quality food as you are charging a good amount for every dishes.

Tried Masala dosa and Egg bonda ! at Samburna Restaurant Rajpur road Dehradun Amazing food ,great service and ample parking space great atmosphere ... pricing could be a little better 200 for Egg bonda is a bit too much .

Located in Rajpur road, the restaurant is easy to reach. However, parking is quite limited, and the underground parking is only available for two-wheelers. The ambience is decent for a restaurant in this price range. We tried the South Indian meals and dosa varieties from the menu. The flavors were enjoyable and authentic, making it a worthwhile experience for those craving South Indian cuisine. However, some items felt ice-cold, which took away feeling of the freshness of the food served. The table setup is quite cramped, making it difficult to comfortably enjoy a traditional South Indian meal served on a banana leaf. Additionally, only sambar, rice, and chutneys are refilled, so don't expect unlimited servings of all items which is usually the case in south indian meals. Despite these drawbacks, the food quality is good, and it's worth a visit for a taste of South Indian flavors at dehradun.

Samburna is a conveniently located restaurant on Mussoorie Road, making it easy to reach. The ample parking space and the supportive building security make the arrival hassle-free, which is a great plus for those traveling by car. * Drinks: We started with a refreshing coconut water mixed with honey and lime. This drink was not only delicious but also rejuvenating--perfect for a hot summer day. * Starters: For starters, we opted for Gobi 65 and Chicken 65 (Tamil Nadu-style dry fry). Both were exceptional, packed with flavor, and fried to perfection. These appetizers were definitely the highlight of our meal, leaving us impressed by their authentic South Indian touch. * Main Course: > CURD RICE, LEMON RICE, POROTTA/SOUTH INDIAN POROTTA, CHICKEN CHETTINAD, VEGETABLE BIRIYANI & DINDIGUL CHICKEN BIRIYANI < * Curd Rice and Lemon Rice were excellent. Both dishes had that perfect South Indian flavor that left us craving more. The freshness and tanginess of the lemon rice and the creamy richness of the curd rice were balanced beautifully. * The South Indian Porotta, which came recommended by a friend, unfortunately, did not meet expectations. It was not as crispy and flavorful as expected (2.5/5), but the Chettinad Chicken Curry that accompanied it was outstanding. The balance of spices in the curry was perfect, offering an authentic Tamilnadu flavor that paired well with the porotta. * Biriyani Disappointment: Sadly, the biryanis did not live up to expectations: - Vegetable Biriyani was overly spicy with an overwhelming amount of masala, and the balance between rice and vegetables was off. It felt more like a masala rice than a true biryani. - Dindigul Chicken Biryani was a bigger letdown. It lacked the distinctive flavor, texture, and color associated with the original Dindigul biryani. - The only saving grace was the raita, which helped tone down the overwhelming flavors of both the Biriyani. The papad came alongside was perfectly roasted, light, and crispy, a nice touch to round out the meal. *** However, there was an inconvenience in the wash area located outside the restaurant, near the stairs. The toilet flush wasn't working properly, which could be improved for a better overall experience.*** Overall Rating: 4/5

Visited this place two days in a row.. situated in Rajpur road above burgrill: simple yet great ambiance, but serving great south indian delicacies. they have wide range of veg and non veg Dosai, too many options for Idli and vadai/bonda. Seperate cooking stations for veg and non veg items! also serve the meals and tiffins (yet to taste) but could guess would be delicious. We orderd Mini idli podi, Rava masala dosa, ghee roast dosa, podi ghee rost dosa, Masa vadai, filter coffee, appam, I would rate 10/10 for all the food we had. Serves complimentary papad, and dosa served with 3 chutney and sambar. Slightly overpriced when compared to other south indian restaurants of dehradun, but definitely worth the taste! Warm and welcoming staff, great service, must vist place if you taste buds craving for authentic south indian food!

Truly Authentic South Indian Hotel. Beautiful ambience, very clean, and food service is too good. All food they serve is fresh. Humble and loving people. We celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi with them. This was very memorable day for all of us. I wish a good luck to Samburna Team

Samburna, Rajpur Road, Dehradun: A South Indian Culinary Experience Our family recently had the pleasure of dining at Samburna for lunch, and it was a delightful experience overall. Situated with a beautiful view of the mountains from the second floor, the restaurant offers a charming South Indian ambience that sets the stage for a memorable meal. We started with the Mini Tiffin, a perfect choice for those with a moderate appetite. It boasted a generous serving size, featuring a sizable dosa, five small idlis, a medium vada, flavorful sambar, excellent upma, sweet pongal, and a trio of chutneys. The green chutney, with its blend of dhaniya, pudina, and kadi patta, alongside the classic coconut chutney and tomato chutney, complemented the Mini Tiffin perfectly. Moving on to the Chettinad Masala Dosa, while it met expectations, it fell slightly short of being exceptional. Similarly, the Appam and Veg Chettinad were enjoyable but didn't quite leave a lasting impression. For dessert, we tried the Pineapple Kesari, a delightful addition to the meal, offering a unique twist on traditional South Indian sweets. And of course, no South Indian meal is complete without a steaming cup of filter coffee, which provided the perfect ending to our culinary journey. In conclusion, Samburna offers a pleasant dining experience with its picturesque surroundings, inviting ambiance, and a diverse array of South Indian delicacies. While some dishes may have been average, others stood out, making it a worthwhile visit for anyone craving authentic South Indian flavors.
