Customer Reviews & Testimonials
We have ordered too many food. But taste of chola is very simple like average and even cart has better than this. Good service but if u prefer taste go for another
Chotiwala in Rishikesh is a well-known name for traditional Indian food with a legacy that goes back decades. The restaurant offers a simple yet authentic dining experience, especially for those craving pure vegetarian North Indian meals. The thali is generous, well-balanced, and feels like a comforting homemade meal. Service is prompt, and the staff is courteous, maintaining the charm of old-school hospitality. The ambiance is basic but clean, with the iconic Chotiwala mascot still welcoming guests at the entrance. Ideal for a filling meal after a Ganga dip or temple visit.
The food was delicious, and we had a great experience overall. We tried masala papad, butter roti, veg kadhai masala, dal fry, and jeera rice--everything was well-prepared and flavorful. The butter roti, in particular, was soft and perfectly cooked, complementing the rich and aromatic curries. A special mention to the host, Shashank Agrawal, who was incredibly welcoming and hospitable. He went out of his way to let us keep our bags at the restaurant for a few hours, which gave us the freedom to explore Haridwar without any hassle. His kindness and excellent service made our visit even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this place for both the food and the hospitality!
It's good place for north Indian, south indian variety foods and snacks.
Food was average but there are few things they need to improve: 1. Communication skill of their staffs ( we were told that we will be served sabji and chawal, if required, as we had ordered standard thali. But when we requested to serve the sabji they denied by saying that it was a fixed thali.) 2. The plate they used to serve the thali was old and damaged. It was moving continuously while eating and I had to hold the plate with one hand which is not a good thing. While complaining, the staff members argued irrationally. We even complained about this to the person sitting in the cash. But he seems to be careless about it. 3. Last but not the least, the place is overpriced in comparison to the quantity they provide. I really hope that they just don't go by the brand name, instead they should provide some value added services to their customer.
Food quality and taste was above average, I tried north Indian Thali. They have an Ala Carte menu and Limited Thali option. The price is a little bit higher. I will recommend you to try once.
Good place, food is alright, but a little bit too oily..
Great food and great taste amazing atmosphere overall great experience
