Customer Reviews & Testimonials
Safety concern: The stairs are inconveniently steep and dangerously close to the puri wok with hot clarified butter. If someone falls down the stairs, as it happened right in front of us, the person might fall straight into the wok or push the person making the puris into it. Gaurd rails must be installed. The puris are good. They taste different than the ones made in oil. But the atmosphere makes the experience worse. The seats are narrow, small and their placement is congested to even spread your arms while eating. So, either you can stand outside on the loud, crowded street and have them or sit inside with a hot atmosphere, congested seating. Lassi was good. Though, you might be served mildly cold lassi if you reach at rush hour. Recommended only if the weather is nice. Otherwise, the heat and the rush will take away half of the experience.
Much talked about but I didn't really get what the hype is all about. It's the plain humble puri with an assortment of dishes - channa curry, aloo curry & some sweet & spicy dish on the side. The aloo curry however is commendable..lightly spiced with a dominant hing (asafoetida) taste - avoid if not fond. However, what blew my mind was their fried rice - perfectly spicy, aptly crunchy with just the right amount of oil & seasoning. The kick of peeper just felt out of the world for the starving soul. Good place to explore a spree of options in sweets & savouries for dine in or take away.
Not really worth the hype. We tried the much-talked-about poori with halwa. It was good, but nothing special--tasted just like what you get at any regular stall in Haridwar. Maybe I was expecting too much. The place is quite crowded, but I must say they manage the crowd very well. Still, I wouldn't call it a must-visit.
Experience is average puri sabji is tasty Halwa suji and suji ka puda is below average Atmosphere is little crowded any time The location is very attractive place HAR ki paudi And Ganga Aarti this is Haridwar main attraction so crowded anytime the Haridwar food is not good or tasty If you go there there were no other famous shop So not many option One thing is good for this shop there were two drinking water taps and any time the water is very chilled and clean and its Free So if you go there you were filled your empty water bottles at any time Thank you
Not sure about the hype, tasted ok. Served hot but lacks flavours and heavily crowded. No place to eat as well if you visit during aarti hours. We tried their puri sabji and halwa. It was just fine.
Mohan ji Puri Wale at Har ki Pauri is a well known name in this area. Crowds swell at Breakfast, Lunch and dinner time. I also bought their puri. As it was very crowded and uncomfortable to eat there. I got it packed and came to my room in nearby Hotel Gyan. Somehow I couldn't find what is special in their puri. 100 for plate of 4 puri along with some Chholey and potato sabzi. Perhaps the hype is not justified.
The taste is just decent and they accept only cash no upi or card will work. You will get 4 puri and sabji for 100rs on very small container very hard to hold and eat. But this looks overhyped place.
The place is too small, the cost is very high and very unhygienic. We have ordered aalo pudi and got a hair in sbji. They will not give you napkins and neither do they take online payments. Full on scam... Avoid this shop
