Bengal Hotel & Mouchak Restaurant - Nainital

As a Bengali person I can say food was very tasty & homely. My parents have got no problem with food. Hotel is adjusent to mall road(10 mtrs slop from main road). Staffs are very good, room service was also very good. We are satisfied with the service at the rate they provided.

Not worth it at all! Went in October 2024... I reached but they said they don't serve food. Totally misguiding. Don't waste your time going here.

Big disappointment. If u r a hardcore Bong like me and are searching for authentic Bengali food in Nainital, let me tell you this place is absolutely not worth it. It's owned by an aged Bengali couple and the menu card is written in Bengali, and the Bong connection ends there! It's run by a couple of Uttarakhandi youths, who have absolutely no idea how to cook Bengali food. We visited on 09 Oct 21 and asked for fish, chicken, mutton (in that order) and they totally surrendered, saying only egg curry would be available. Then we saw them running out to get a tray of eggs from the market! They took about 70 mins to cook rice, egg curry, masoor dal and alu bhaja! The served portions were laughable, to say the least.One plate of rice was insufficient for one person, one plate of dal (costing 70/-) was only one small bowl, that too only boiled, without any tadka or masala! The water served in glasses looked so filthy we were sure to get diarrhoea if we had that water! And yes, they accept only cash. So of you're still feeling adventurous, feel free to explore at ur own risk, you've been warned!

We stayed in Himtrek hotel, near to this Bengal Hotel, on mall road. All kind of rooms were available within the individuals budget. Food service as a room service was good, also the quallity and taste of the food served was good. The only drawback was that, all kind of services was put on hold after 11pm till next day 7am and the troublesome part was that the visiters were not even informed about this rule in their hotel premises, even the main gates were locked during that time. Note: The hot water for drinking and room heater were chargeable for us.

Very unpleasant due to unhygienic room unchanged bedsheets after old guests left ,tasteless food. The room provided to us was given without cleaning and changing bedsheets no services provided very unprofessional but high price.

Don't go there they will cheat you they brought food outside their is no kitchen right now and also charge Rs 200 for Rice, Dal, Papad, one sabji better to visit another restaurant there's no Bengali Restaurant in Nainital right now so avoid it.

Good place for bengali. Very few Well maintained rooms are available in upstairs location. Bengali food also available at mouchak restaurant which is attached to this hotel. Foods are good prepared by local residents. Room has no views of lakes etc.

They serve good quality bengali food and the owner is very humble. We got our food delivered in our hotel and she was kind enough to call us back on the following day to have our views on their food.
