Punjab Restaurant & Madras Tiffin [ Barrackpore ]

Few days ago I ordered Mutton Keema Matar and Laccha Paratha from here and i am preety much impressed.... The quantity of Mutton keema was sufficient for 2 person which they provided and the taste was also quite good i would say. Only the Laccha paratha was a little bit underwhelming, It more of felt like normal paratha....But i can recommend it to people to try atleast once Individual Rating - Mutton Keema Matar- 4/5 Laccha Paratha - 3/5

This is a very old restaurant in Barrackpore which is not only pocket and budget friendly, but also known for quality food especially South Indian foods. We ordered the combo of idli, bada, and Masala Dosa, a plain dosa and a plate of bada. As usual all the items were of excellent quality and real value for money.

Worst Place to ever visit - the staff are nothing less than street side hooligans running the place - won't let park infront of their restaurant even when there's ample space - 4 wheeler parking 100 rs for 1/2 n hour they said and still won't let us park - no ethics nothing - not recommended at all... Edit- coz I'm unable to reply to the hotel's response- they were the hotel staff who told us not to park ...they were wearing the hotel's uniform. It was like we had to purchase from the hotel to park there !!

Here is my honest dining experience that I had with this restaurant. For the ease of understanding & time saving purpose, this review has been written in a "pros-cons" format. Pros :- 1) Good location. 2) Foods are pocket-friendly. 3) Huge choice of dishes & diverse cuisines are available on the menu. 4) The dining hall is spacious and clean. The seats are comfortable. 5) The idly & dahi vada that I tried out tasted delectable and was of good quality. 6) Order serving time was really quick. 7) UPI payment is accepted. Cons :- 1) Customer service is not up to the mark. The waiters were unaware that they had a customer waiting to order foods upstairs in the dining hall. I had to personally go downstairs and place my order. This should be improved. 2) AC was not turned on inside the dining hall. 3) Card payment was not accepted during my visit. 4) North Indian dishes are priced high. South Indian dishes are affordable. 5) The area outside the restaurant looked unclean and little unhygienic. Overall, it's a decent place for occasional dining. Recommended.

The food quality is really good here. Me & my friends tried Masala Dosa & Egg-Chicken chowmein & lemme say I was never a fan of dosa but this restaurant definitely made me like it to some extent. One of my friend is vegetarian she was the one who recommended this place to us because she loved their Dosa & used to eat here often. The egg-chicken chowmein was really good too. Filled with veges & bite sized pieces of chicken & the taste We tried cheese dosa too but didn't like it that much as it was a little too salty, probably because of the salted cheese. The service is also fast but the problem is with the position of the sitting area, the cealing is a bit low so if you're over 6' ig you'll have problem standing up. It definitely feels like it's gonna crash on our head any moment, which is not their fault btw. & Because the room is on the 1st floor you'll have to take the stairs & that's where the problem comes in. The steps of the stairs are too high so injured & olderly people will have problems to go up. Now IDK if they have sitting area on ground floor or not.

Very old restaurant of Barrackpore. The seating space is limited to 20-30 people. The food is delicious. The service is prompt. Dosa is very good here. A must try. Parking and take out is available

Nice place..dosa is very good at here.. Ordered Mixed Chowmin. The price wise taste was very average. The quantity was also not satisfactory. But it was full of toppings like egg, chicken, prawn & mutton. Expected better taste in this price range.

I have ordered - chicken reshmi kabab And chicken moghlai Paratha. tastes average . 7/10 Ambience - crowdy. 8/10 I will recommend for South Indian dishes only.
