Banerjee Cabin

Banerjee Cabin is the undisputed emperor of Chinsura's heritage fine dine space. This place was legend when I was growing up. I returned to check this place out after 35 years and to my surprise they still serve the best fish fry, notun gurer payesh and mishti doi. Since I dont eat meat they suggested the egg biryani which was plain scam since I took out 3 bones from my egg biryani! This place has air conditioned space on the first floor with cabins still prevalent. Hope to see them moderinize before they get wiped out in the new age. Otherwise of course this place is nostalgic and holds a very strong place in my heart. No credit cards only cash and UPI.

It's an old restaurant in the heart of the town and they have maintained the quality over the years. Today I tried Doi parota and chicken curry and both were delicious. Also very few places in Chuchura offers caramel pudding, and Banerjee Cabin is one of them. The taste of the pudding is amazing and it's a must try here. Probably, the place lacks sophistication, but that doesn't matter, because the food is great.

Ground floor non ac 1st floor ac. Clean restaurant. Fish kabiraji delicious egg devil ok quality. Price ok. Location good. Recommend all. Local transport like auto toto available from railway station and others nearby area. Staff behavior ok. Waiting time 10 to 15 minutes after order. Washroom available.

authentic bengali food. Veg and non veg option available Also food is served on disposable plates. So veg and non veg don't get mixed. Highly recommended

As the name goes by , this place has an old touch .. Ground floor is non AC , whereas the first floor is AC.. It remains somewhat crowdy.. Service is good , we don't have to wait for much longer , even it's packed... Some foods in the menu is reasonable, some will seem overpriced... Food taste is nice... Nothing much about ambience , because there is nothing fancy...

Good foods but not extraordinary

This place is located just beside the famous Ghorir more in Chuchura. The groubd floor is the non AC section and the 1st floor has AC seating. I went on a Saturday evening and opted for the AC section. The price difference is about 10-15 between the two sections. Coming to the food, I ordered a fish kabiraji and chicken chowmin. The kabiraji had that old world cabin charm to it. Now a days this item has become rare among all the fancy restaurants that have popped up all over the city. The fish fillet was a bit on the thinner side. The noodles was quintessential Bengali chowmin with a lot of chicken pieces. The taste was homely and an added benefit was no MSG. Service was pretty fast too and the waiter was courteous. Overall it's a good family restaurant. I would definitely try other items here. PS: If you get a window side table then you can enjoy a view of the famous Edwardian clock tower along with your food.

One of the oldest place for very authentic Bengali food. This place is near Ghandhi more. You can have options for snacks tea, lunch and dinner. Price is moderate. I will suggest those people who love Bengali cooking style food.
