Customer Reviews & Testimonials

antara sinha

The food was no doubt good in quality but taste wise it doesn't match upto our expectations. It was not as good as the branches in Kolkata. Doesn't hit the right spot although we tried their speciality mutton jhol and basanti polao it was okayish. Coming to the worst part is the service. WHY SO MUCH ATTITUDE in the staff? They gave us water bottles only after we asked for it usually the staff ask for the choice of water as soon as you get your seat. After they gave bottle they left without giving glasses, again we had to ask for glasses to which their behaviour was rude and they got irritated idk why. Aren't these basic restaurant ethics? You are working for a brand you can't show so much attitude in your workplace with your guests specially in Durgapur. Because let me tell you Durgapur staffs are way too humble and welcoming so you might not get repeated customers if this is how your staff and manager behave with guests. Also when we asked for Mangshor jhol second time they forgot the menu and said mangshor jhol isn't there on the menu then we reminded him that this is our second plate of the same. On a side note we went on 12.30 when the restaurant was vacant and not at all crowded.

Now this was the perfect dining experience at Durgapur in a long time. Food- They made everything good or par excellence, from the basic moong dal in thalis, the crispy fulko luchi to basanti pulao and all the gravy items. Fulkopi, Dhokar dalna, and I was told katla, Bhetki paturi as well- all were very tasty. Service- The food was served fast, the staff were cordial and made adjustments as and when necessary. Since I am vegan, I asked for an extra chutney instead of mishti in Minibhog thali and they acceded. They also brought extra servings of complimentary frayams, so we too ordered to our heart's content. No service charge. Ambience- It's brightly lit indoors with wall draping of 'Shohoj Path' and colloquial imageries of Bengali culture.

Disappointing Lunch Experience Most dishes (except potato fry and rice) seemed pre-cooked and reheated. Mutton was overly spicy and tasted refurbished. Despite asking for two large prawns, we were served eight medium ones without being informed. Poor hygiene -- a staff member who cleaned tables also served food without washing hands. Though they halved the mutton price after feedback, overall quality was poor and not worth the premium pricing. Won't visit again or recommend.

Food taste was 4/5. We loved the ciNdd'i diy'e kcu paataa bhaapaa / bhettki phraai was good too. maattn kssaa was also not bad. Not sure why its current rating is 3.6 in my experience it should be around 3.9 to 4. Probably I didn't tied other dishes. I have tried Koke kosha in Kolkata, Bangalore and Now in Durgapur, and I believe its has a great potential to serve is good Bengali food. I would provide 5 but please work on management and quality.

Really nice ambience. Hospitality was great. And the waiting time was not long at all. I tried their mochar chop, which could be improved quite a bit. The rest were distinct in taste and well prepared- shukto, mach er matha diye dal , Dhakai mutton. Unfortunately their signature dish, daab ice cream wasn't available. Otherwise it was food for money and I'd love to go back again to explore more on the menu.

The food took around 15-20 minutes to arrive, which was reasonable, but it was served cold. The menu was confusing, with the same item listed twice, differing only in price and quantity. It makes sense from a business perspective, but it was very confusing to order. When we raised our concern about the cold food, the staff addressed it by offering complimentary chutney and papad. So +1 to the staff for their efforts.
