Customer Reviews & Testimonials
This is one of the very few old restaurants in Kolkata which provided cabins for customers once upon a time. Presently there are no cabins but the original marble-top tables and wooden chairs are still in use. Dilkhusha completed it's 125 years journey recently. Their menu is not elaborate, but almost all the dishes are tasty and the prices are very reasonable. Apart from their traditional items like cutlets, chops and a couple of curries, they added a few chinese and biriyani items a few years back to allure the young generation. This is a non-ac and cash only joint. One can give it a try anytime for an old time charm.
I recently visited Dilkhush Cabin, a culinary heritage award-winning restaurant that has been serving top-quality food since 1900. Stepping inside, I was instantly transported to old Calcutta, with its classic cabin-style ambiance and heritage charm. The restaurant is neat and clean, and the staff and owner are exceptionally polite and friendly. I tried their famous Chicken Kobiraji, which was an absolute delight--a perfect 10/10 in taste! The food quality is excellent, and the prices are very affordable, making it a must-visit spot for food lovers. A small note: They only accept cash payments, and their opening hours are from 12:30-1:00 PM onwards. If you're looking for an authentic heritage Kolkata dining experience, Dilkhush Cabin is the place to be!
Apart from being a legendary, age-old cabin I like this place because of the taste of the Chinese items. The taste is typical street-style and the combinations go really well. Try their egg-chicken fried rice or chowmein with their Chilli Chicken which has a light-runny gravy with soft chicken pieces. Each plate can be enough for two. I am not really a fan of the Kabiraji and the cutlets from this place maybe because of the fact that there are better places to try them out.
Dilkhusa Cabin: Tucked away in the bustling College Street area, Dilkhusa Cabin is a must-visit for foodies. This quaint eatery serves mouth-watering dishes that will leave you craving for more. The star of the show? The Fish Kobiraji - crispy, flavorful, and utterly addictive! Don't miss it! Location: Opposite Adi Mohini Mohan Kanjilal, College Street.
Taste of Kolkata and bengalis. The location is also very important, very next to the 'boi para' (street of books), college street. Though I didn't tried but Kabiraji(both fish and chicken) is there signature dish. I tried mutton kosha and it was heavenly.
This is my first time I tried Dilkhusha Cabins food and honestly it was good. We have ordered chicken cutlet, egg chicken fried rice and chicken kasha. Chicken cutlet was 3.5/5, chicken kasha was 3/5 and egg chicken fried rice was 4/5. Service was fast. Overall it was a good experience.
Highly recommend mutton brest cutlet Egg and prawn mixed fried rice is also good. Every meat item is so frsh.
Located at the college street crossing, Dilkhusha Cabin is one of those eateries that is serving The Kolkatians for more than a century. This place had the footsteps of Kaji Najrul Islam, Ganesh Pyne and many other renowned personalities. We had Fish Kabiraji which is the bestseller here.
