Customer Reviews & Testimonials
The food quality was very good but all these items are overpriced. If you want some spicy gravy go for Amritsari Kulcha, Dhuandhar Paneer butter. masalaMust try . Soya Malai Chaap was okish.
Kake D Hatti is our go to place for Vegetarian North Indian. The atmosphere is good and it is quite close to Ramesh Mitra Road. It has 2 rooms and they are normally quite packed during the weekends. Among starters, they have amazing Soya Malai Chaap which is a must have. In Naan , if you like spicy go for Dhuaandhaar Naan and if you have normal taste, do try Garlic Naan. If you are coming with 4 or more people, definitely try it's Kake Size. Another minute thing which we loved is they do give carefully cut onions, lemons and green chilli with North Indian which has been removed from most North Indian places in Kolkata. So if you are craving for some naan, Paneer Butter Masala and Dal Makhani, go to Kake's You can also try and have the Tandoori Dal Makhani with Handi, Malai Kofta and Paneer Butter Masala Handi which are expensive options but worth the taste.
Its kulladh dal with naan it amazing Also gulab jamun with icecream . A dish that was unique yet delicious
Moderate sized place.so on weekends for large groups make reservation. Food is good and there standout Nan and Kulcha worth mentioning. Tried Paneer Butter Masala,Lotus stem fry ,Delhi Dal Makhani and it was good. Price somewhat on Pricey side Parking is on nearby street, which can be tight on rush hours
This 80 years old Delhi based brand needs no introduction. They've proved themselves many times by getting multiple certificates and prizes all these years, also own the title King of Naan for serving best naans and now they're in Kolkata. They've made a very nice family restaurant type comfortable ambiance, very well maintained, neat and clean, ample available tables and more than enough staffs to assist. But service is bit slow. I ordered their Chef's special and best seller items. Soya Malai Chaap - 6pcs @ Rs.385 (2/5) ------------------------------------------------- This Delhi specialty starter in general tastes wonderful and its replacement of Afghani Chicken for vegetarians. But they somehow weren't able to achieve the taste. Chaap pieces were too small and the taste of the malai didn't went through. Malai taste could've been better and the veggies could've been little more roasted. I'll say Veerji Malai Chaap wale make way better chap for cheaper. For almost Rs.400 it really hurt my pocket. Paneer Butter Masala - Half @ Rs.385 (5/5) ---------------------------------------------------- The texture of the gravy with the perfect blend spices, it was one of the best Paneer Butter Masala I've ever tried. Although there weren't many paneer pieces but they were fresh and in triangular shape. Gravy tasted amazing and portion was good too. Undoubtedly it's a special and highly recommended item. Cheese Garlic Butter Naan - Baby size @ Rs.365 (4/5) ----------------------------------------------------------- I went there empty stomach for lunch by skipping the breakfast to try their special Kake size naan but by seeing the crazy around Rs.500 price tag I ordered the smaller one. So they're known for their naan and I must say their naan tastes and feels completely different than any other restaurant in Kolkata. It wasn't too thick, neither too thin like a papad. Just the perfect naan with ample butter and garlic but very less cheese that wasn't overpowering, still tasted very good. Pricing ------------- Total bill for just 3 items for 2 people was Rs.1300. Considering this is a pure veg restaurant the prices are quite high. Actually, they've increased the prices to double since its launch in just 2 years. Big brands in our city offer veg food way cheaper. They also added service charge so I asked their staff to justify the high prices but he didn't respond. Conclusion ------------------ Mr Rohit Bhoot the owner of Kolkata franchise has clearly targeted to loot Kolkata people. The Cheese Kake naan that costs Rs.225 in Delhi and Rs.185 in Siliguri costs Rs.425 in Kolkata. The same Rs.200-300 increased price is applicable to all other dishes. Example. Paneer Butter Masala costs Rs.245 in Delhi compared to Rs.525 here. Why so DISCREPANCY to Kolkata people? The brand Kake Di Hatti is obviously running all these years because they've that magic in their food. Unfortunately, in Kolkata the owner is trying to compete with 5 stars in prices, so I'll not contribute to his dreams next time, but if you have money then you can.
Amazing dining experience of pure veg food and authentic taste of each of the preparation! Banjara paneer tikka was delicious to start with and even freshlime soda was perfectly made! In main course we ordered dal makhni, mix veg, Pindi chana and paneer kadai! For breads Amritsari kulcha is amazing and is served on a pizza platter, also chur chur naan is a little on a sweeter side with coconut tinge taste and very crispy! Laccha Paratha was good one of wheat! All in all Mr. Abir Gomes served us primarily and ensured prompt service and pro active delivery on our table! Grateful for the experience of grt food with family while we were celebrating our parents anniversary!
Kake Di Hatti - Since 1942 - Kolkata Chandni Chowk's Kake Di Hatti since 1942 is now in Kolkata! All the way from the heart of Old Delhi, Chandni Chowk, to Kolkata, the iconic north Indian vegetarian eatery Kake Di Hatti since 1942 has opened doors in Bhowanipore. The ambiance of the restaurant is cozy and warm. The friendly staff is always ready to assist you with your order and suggest the best dishes. The best part about my visit was the lightning-fast service. On a busy Sunday, the waiters were bringing out the dishes in no time, be it the starters or the main course. One of the unique offerings of the restaurant is the Biggest Naan in India. The naan is so large that it is served on a table-like platter and can easily feed a group of 4. It is freshly baked and comes with a lot of options. The naan is soft and fluffy, and the perfect accompaniment to any of the delicious curries on the menu. Kake Di Hatti is a must-visit restaurant for those who love traditional Punjabi food, and the Biggest Naan in India is definitely a highlight of the menu. Moreover, we ordered Paneer Butter Masala and Dal Makhani. Both of them came in a clay pot, or a Handi, and tasted divine. In conclusion, if you are in Kolkata and looking for a traditional and flavorful, vegetarian, Punjabi food experience, Kake Di Hatti - Since 1942 is the place to go. With its cozy ambiance, friendly staff, and delicious food, it is a must-visit restaurant that should not be missed. The prices at Kake Di Hatti are a little on the higher side though. I dined at this restaurant and ordered the Kake Thali, which included a huge Butter naan, dal makhani, paneer butter masala, mix veg raita, salad, gulab jamun, and veg pulao. To start, we had a Chinese combo thali with noodles, Chinese rice, salad, baby corn, and Manchurian. The ambience was truly impressive, offering a rich and aesthetically pleasing setting. The staff was friendly and accommodating. However, I was slightly disappointed with the plating and presentation. It didn't match the glamorous images seen on social media on the reels of influencers. When I asked them they said it just for the shoot. Instead of the expected brass (pital) coated-like glossy bowls, everything was served on a single plate. Despite this, the taste of the food was exceptional, and the prices were reasonable, making it a worthwhile dining experience. It's definitely a place to visit if you're looking for a delicious meal in a lovely atmosphere. P.S: Don't give a try to the Sizzling Brownie with ice cream, though it may look pleasing, taste wise it was pretty average. When asked they said the brownie was outsourced, it wasn't made in-house.
