Disappointing Experience - Not Worth the Price Visited this restaurant expecting a good experience, but it turned out to be quite disappointing. The place is overpriced, and unfortunately, the food didn't justify the cost. We ordered the Champaran mutton, but it was underwhelming -- poorly cooked with too many bones and lacked the expected flavor. To make matters worse, they charged 55 for a 1-liter water bottle with an MRP of 20, which is unjustifiable. The ambience was too loud and chaotic, filled with drunk guests, making it unsuitable for a peaceful family dinner. Service was slow, though staff were polite. Overall, not a place I'd recommend if you're looking for good food or a comfortable dining atmosphere.

Rang De Basanti Dhaba is located at Star Mall in Madhyamgram. Although the name is Dhaba but the atmosphere is not like Dhaba. Restaurant cum bar here you will find all kinds of drinks cocktails or mocktails and food available. The staff here is very humble. The food here is also very good. But the cocktail did not dilute properly.

It is my go to place every time I visit Star Mall. I have tried their biriyani, chole bhature and Galati kabab with paratha. Loved everything.

Superb ambiance with great food. The atmosphere is dhaba style with modern touch. Friendly and welcoming staffs. We ordered: 1. RDBD Paneer Tikka 2. RDBD Special Handi Chicken 3. Assorted Breads (Roti Tokri) Butter Naan Masala Kulcha Laccha paratha Mirch Paratha 4. Bhuna Murgh Tawa Biryani 5. Goli Sodas 6. RDBD Phirnis All the preparations are really great but I loved the paneer tikka and RDBD Special Handi chicken with masala kulcha more. RDBD is now serving alcohol only at Star Mall Madhyamgram outlet. Their special Goli Soda has 4 different options and all are very refreshing. Highly Recommend

I've been to Rang de basanti dhaba for the very first time. I have a preconceived notion that RDB dhaba is costlier than the usual gastro-pubs in the suburbs areas like Sodepur, Madhyamgram or Barasat, but it got shattered after looking at the price menu. Though I shouldn't consider RBD to be the cheaper option on regular days if you are planning to have booze & food together & living somewhere near Madhyamgram. Now coming to their food. We have ordered 1. Fish finger: which was quite good & Savory 2. Malai Tikka: which was good to taste but too dry. I think due to rush hours of durga puja they weren't getting enough time marinate the meat. 3. Chilli garlic fish: which was also good & succulent. 4. Booze: Booze prices were reasonable. But the way they were serving it was pathetic. The utensils which were used were ordinary one, may be they want to keep the essence of the roadside dhaba, but those were really ordinary but the service we got really fast & it's appreciated.

Totally desi ambience. Drinks are starting from 69 at happy hours. Foods are also awesome. We tried: Final menu for bloggers table today. 4 Pax Old Monk at 69 Calcutta Gin One beer from offer One mock tail ( making and drinking) Desi fish n chips Handi chicken & paneer palang tod Roti basket *Chinjabi* Drums of Hell Veg Kolkata Hawker Chowmein Classic Tangra Chicken My personal favourite was Drums of Hell, it's really very spicy. Love it.

Ordered Butter Chicken Bombay Tawa Biryani from RDBD. The food was extremely underwhelming. it tasted like masaledar rice without the complex flavours of proper Biryani. The quantity was sufficient for one person, packaging was super smooth. However, RDBD should work on its taste and quality.
