Decent type restaurant in Hazra near Asutosh College. We tried fried rice (veg) and chilli chicken (with bone). Tastes are decent to average. We don't like the taste of the ordered items very much. But this restaurant is known for its Mutton Afghani and Moglai parota (Not tried). Price are almost reasonable according to the food.

Sanguvalley Restaurant - A Nostalgic Culinary Ride in South Kolkata Visited on: 30th April 2025 (Wednesday) Location: 6A, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Road, Kolkata - 700025 Landmark: Between Netaji Bhavan Gate 1 & Jatin Das Park Metro Stations Gate 2 (6-7 mins walk from either side) After passing by Sanguvalley Restaurant countless times, I finally decided to step in -- and I'm glad I did. This age-old gem might not boast flashy decor or air conditioning, but it certainly knows how to serve up good old Indo-Chinese comfort food with a nostalgic flair. The seating is simple and no-frills -- around 8 tables in the main dining area with pedestal fans fighting the Kolkata heat like seasoned warriors. There's also an inner section, currently used for storage and parcel dispatch, maintaining the classic old-school vibe. If you enjoy the rustic charm of Kolkata's traditional eateries, this place ticks the box. What I Tried: Mixed Chowmein - Classic, tasty, and exactly how Kolkata used to do it back in the day. Perfectly cooked with a balanced mix of meats and veggies. No complaints here! Chilli Pork (Gravy) - This dish was full of surprises -- the pork came in cube-sized cuts (unlike anything I've had before) and the gravy was... let's say, forgettable. I expected fireworks, but got a sparkler. Takeaway: Mixed Fried Rice + Chilli Fish - Fried rice was flavorful, well tossed, and satisfying. However, the Chilli Fish was a miss. Strong smell and an unusually thick coating made it hard to love. Skip this one. What's Next on My Radar: Chicken Afghani Mughlai Porota Chilli Chicken with Porota And maybe give their Chilli Pork (Dry) a chance next time! Final Thoughts: Sanguvalley is one of those time-travel restaurants -- it takes you back to the good old days with its food and setting. It may not win awards for decor, but for those who appreciate traditional flavors and no-nonsense food, it's worth a visit. Just choose your dishes wisely -- they have some real hits and a few misses. Overall Experience: Good food, nostalgic ambiance and a peek into Kolkata's culinary history. Rating: 3.5/5

I had the chilli pork dry and their renowned Mutton Afghani. Both the dishes were amazing and very well prepared. A great experience overall.

The food is amazing. Very good service, friendly staff.. Parking can be a bit difficult, so better to use public transport if you are planning to visit this place!

An age-old cabin-style restaurant just beside Purna Cinema serving Fries, Cutlets & Mughlai Paratha since ages. They also serve Chinese food. One of their best selling items is Chicken Afgani which I have been having since childhood. During my most recent visit, I tried Paratha & Chilli Chicken - a combo which is an absolute favourite of mine. Paratha at 20/ per pc Chilly Chicken Boneless - 6 pcs at 160 INR Salad - complimentary Liked the food and the service. UPI is accepted here.

This is a cabin style restaurant where you get small cabins as well as you can sit outside. They sell Indian and Chinese dishes. I tried their special chicken mughlai paratha for 110. The coating is very crispy made with egg batter. Inside there is a generous amount of chicken filling. It was soft and taste was awesome. They gave aloo torkari and salad with it. A must try. I also tried their mixed fried rice and chilli chicken. Mixed fried rice has a generous amount of chicken,egg and prawn. Good taste.

Me and my colleague tried here I am for the first superb experience food test in this price just awesome very reasonable price and quantity is also very good tried egg chicken fried rice and garlic chicken and fish kobiraji . Very old place atmosphere is not so much high figh but food is very good at this price. Suggest please try here one time my colleague suggest me and he try here so many times but my 1st experience about the food in this price 5 star rating.

Delicious with Decent Ambiance Quality and taste both are good and price range is also very low.
