Customer Reviews & Testimonials

Shruti Sharma

The place should rightly be called "Sharma Kachauri House" because it truly lives up to the expectations of a flavorful dining experience. The taste was absolutely extraordinary--nothing short of out of this world. The kachauris were perfectly complemented by the sabzi, which was not only delicious but had a distinct flavor of hing (asafoetida) that elevated the dish to a whole new level. It's a rare treat to find such well-balanced and aromatic seasoning in everyday food. And how could I not mention the tea? It was exceptionally well-prepared, rich in flavor, and perfectly brewed, making it the ideal companion to the kachauri meal. The attention to taste and detail here makes this place a must-visit for anyone who loves authentic, flavorful food.

Sharma Tea House seems like a hidden gem, especially with their signature Club Kachori and Kesar Tea. The combination of crispy kachoris and flavorful kesar tea must be a treat.

Tried Kesar Chai here(safron sprikled over tea)... It's really good... Chai served in mud cups which is hygienic... Kachoris, jalebis and other snacks also served hot... Parking is little tough as shop is at signal area... After crossing the signal can park cars on roadside but it's paid parking... Around 20 rupees for cars...

It's a good place, right next to the Gurudwara. Food prices are cheap and quantity is plentiful. Tea and sweets are good aswell.

Sharma Tea House in Bhowanipore is a legendary spot in Kolkata that holds a special place in the hearts of tea enthusiasts and food lovers. Nestled in the bustling streets of Bhowanipore, this humble eatery has been serving locals and visitors alike with its delicious offerings for years. The highlight of Sharma Tea House is, undoubtedly, its tea. Known for its strong, aromatic, and perfectly brewed chai, served in traditional clay cups (kulhads), it embodies the quintessential Kolkata tea experience. The tea here is refreshing, robust, and pairs perfectly with the eatery's lip-smacking snacks. Speaking of snacks, the kachoris served with a flavorful aloo sabzi are a crowd favorite. Crispy, hot, and loaded with flavor, they are perfect for a quick breakfast or an evening snack. Other offerings, like samosas and jalebis, are equally delightful and maintain the high quality that Sharma Tea House is known for. The ambiance is simple and unpretentious, with a street-side charm that adds to the experience. Though seating might be limited and the place often crowded, the warm hospitality and prompt service make up for it. Sharma Tea House is more than just a tea stall; it is a cultural experience that reflects Kolkata's love for chai and adda (casual conversation). Whether you're a local or a visitor, a stop here is a must to savor the authentic flavors of the city.

I've been visiting this place since my school days, and it's disappointing to see how much the quality of their Kachori-Aloo has deteriorated over time. What used to be a flavorful and satisfying snack now feels bland and inconsistent. The taste just isn't what it used to be. Honestly, there are other Sharma outlets in the area that serve much better food now--would definitely recommend trying those instead.

Quality has detiorated...subzi n mircha had too much of salt in it. But tea was good
